Story
Rye is about 1.5 years old. He was taken in after his original owner decided to get rid of him. He has completed the PetSmart Beginner Obedience classes with the foster parent, and is doing some agility training. He was treated for heartworm by the shelter the original owner adopted him from and has a clean bill of health. Rye is affectionate but can be nervous, and he has separation anxiety. The foster parent has been working on kennel training him, but he has broken out of his kennels, and broke 2 teeth in the process. The broken teeth may need vet care, but they don't bother him in any way or prevent him from eating or playing. Rye is currently eating PetSmart Authority Sensitive Stomach dog food. He has scheduled feedings rather than free feeding. He is food and praise motivated, and highly toy motivated. He was somewhat toy-aggressive prior to coming to his current foster parent, but she has worked consistently to train the behavior away and has made great progress. No cats.

Story
Hello, my name is Mark but my close friends call me “Good Boy!”” I don’t remember what happened, but I am very scared of just about everything. I’m not a lost cause though. I have lived in 2 different foster homes and I spent a lot of time at the hospital after I had hip dysplasia surgery. At each of these places I found someone that I felt safe with pretty quickly. Right now my foster home has other small dogs and I love following them around. They taught me that “do you wanna go outside?” was really fun. I have two nice little people (kiddlings) I live with and they think I’m a very cool guy. They feed me and I listen to them when they ask me to stop licking, I just like to let them know I think they are pretty cool too. Because I am so anxious/scared, I take medicine every single evening. I will probably be taking this my whole life. I’m ok with this because it means I get a treat every time I get my medicine. I would really like to find my forever person. My idea is someone who is a homebody that doesn’t get a lot of different visitors and wants a nice warm doggie head on their lap. Another dog or two would be great and I don’t really mind cats. Please consider giving me a chance to be your “best boy ever”. It will probably take a couple of months before I’m totally comfortable but I promise I will get there eventually. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our application here: http://www.rchsks.org/our-animals/adopt-a-pet/adopting-a-dog. By filling out the application you are not committing yourself to adopting; it's a screening process that must be completed before you meet the dog. Please do this BEFORE calling. Our voicemail is only checked periodically and you can reach us much faster via dog-coordinators@rchsks.org. Thank you!

Story
🐾 Meet Zeus – A Loyal, Energetic German Shepherd Looking for His Forever Home 🐾 Zeus is a 6-year-old German Shepherd who is full of energy, love, and personality. He’s up to date on all vaccinations, neutered, and ready to find a home where he can thrive. He’s an active dog who loves to run, play, and spend time outdoors — the perfect companion for someone with an active lifestyle. He’s also wonderful with kids and enjoys being part of family life. Zeus would do best as the only pet in the home, as he can struggle to get along with other dogs. He’s very vocal and likes to “talk,” especially when he’s excited or wants attention — it’s part of his big personality! He’s a loyal and protective companion who just needs the right environment — one where he can feel secure and get plenty of exercise and structure. If you’re looking for a devoted friend who will always be by your side, Zeus might be the perfect match. 📍 Located in Manhattan, KS 📅 Age: 6
