You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Alan came to the shelter on 1/22/2024 from the city pound after his legal hold time was finished. We're guessing on his breed mix, but are thinking German or Dutch shepherd, pit bull, and maybe even mastiff. He is a big, strong, and friendly guy with a gorgeous brindle coat. He is about 5 years old and has been fully vetted and microchipped. His fee is $150. Alan does appear to be housetrained and does know some basic commands. He walks pretty well on leash with a harness. He's very in tune to people and kind of a sensitive soul (don't tell him we said anything). He's also an absolute sweetie who wants to be around people all the time. We do think he should be the only pet in the home. He might be a bit too large and strong for really young kids.  NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications can be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. Hi! My name is Bessie and I just arrived from Alabama in November! I currently live with my foster family (a human mom, dad, and 3 kids ages 10, 7, and 3). They all LOVE me and give me hugs, belly rubs, and ear scratches. I am an eager learner, and have already learned sit, gentle, and leave it. I am getting better with potty training too! I love being outside, playing with other dogs, chewing my nylabone and Kong, and snuggling on the couch. Sometimes I forget that I'm 70 pounds, and need reminders to be gentle with the smaller humans, but I'm working on it! A play date with a furry friend is a great outlet for me.I quietly sleep in my crate overnight AND when mom goes to work. When she's working from home, I closely supervise and chew on my toys or snooze. I am looking for a family who has room in their hearts and home for a big and fun snuggle bug!! Is it you? ❤️ --------------------------------------------"I'll be home for Christmas!" For applications received now through 12/31/2025, Warrior Dog Rescue is reducing the adoption fee of all pups. This is reflected in the adoption fee shown below.All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned.
