Scout is a very lovable German shepherd pup. He enjoys being outside, belly rubs, and lots of treats. He requires a lot of attention as he has separation anxiety. He would love someone to be home with him for the majority of the day to give him endless belly rubs. He will need to be fed in his kennel as he has slight food aggression. He would also do best in a home with older kids who don’t drop food on the ground, as he will immediately run over to get it as he is a “vacuum.” He loves being called “Scout pout” and loves when you ask him “would you like a Bewwy Wub” Scout is working on kennel training and will give you those big puppy dog eyes and try to hide on you when you need to put him to bed. He is also working on being friendly with other dogs. Most importantly scout has a big heart. It is easy to become his best friend. If you are looking for a lovable forever friend please get to know Scout. This pet is microchipped, spayed/neutered & up to date on vaccinations. The adoption fee is $500. Here's Lucy!! ....and she's got some 'splaining to do! She'd like you to know that she's beautiful, smart, funny and all of that, but she plays catch like an major leaguer - and she will play until you are exhausted :) She came in as a stray on New Year's Day. She is a Senior gal, but don't tell her that - she just wants to have fun!! Lucy would love to join your family and seems to do fine with kids and other animals. She keeps a clean kennel here at the shelter, so should just need a bit of training in her new home to get used to the new set up and she'll be ready to get out in the yard and play ball!! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only. Story

Gunner is a great dog who isn't quite used to having little kids in his house. We recommend older children for him to be successful in a new home. Gunner is playful and loving. He gets along with other dogs but doesn't care for the cats much. Gunner is a bit of a parrot because he loves to lay on the back of whatever you're sitting on! He loves to be brushed and petted. :) You have to meet him to appreciate his quirky personality. Gunner has a bit of anxiety and would benefit from only having 1 other animal in the home or no other animals in the home. We feel he would also benefit from someone being home a majority of the time. He really is a good boy who just needs a chance to love someone. Gunner is microchipped and crate trained. He does howl once in a while in the night. :) Come meet him!
