Story
Raven is my name and kind of like a raven, I am a 'loner'... except for the puppies i had when I arrived at the rescue... I was saved by a trapper on the streets, they weren't even there to save ME that day, but they did!!! I am obviously a beautiful girl, big and solid as well as black and brindly. I am a loving girl, in my own way... i lived on the streets for who knows how long and I honestly am not a cuddly girl or even a sit by your feet dog, YET... I have all kinds of love to give, you can see in my eyes that I have always dreamed of someone with the patience to love me for who I am and who I can be!! I am great on a leash and do love walking around and exploring. I am good with other dogs and likely would do best with another dog who is calm and confident with his/her family. I am so so ready for you, I have the shepherd double coat so I will shed in your house, must have a great vacuum cleaner and tolerance of hair :) Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
I was part of a litter called the Seasoning Squad! I was adopted in 2025 and now I'm back through no fault of my own. My people just didn't have a place for me to stay with them when they moved. I'm thought to be a dutch shepherd mix, but probably a mix of a lot of things. I am a good girl and hoping you'll give me a chance to show it. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2498421##

Story
Saint was adopted from the Humane Society in Spring of 2023. From day one he has been playful, loving, and a high energy goofball. He will be 5 November 1st 2026He has lived with 3 cats and has been around many more and always reads their cues. Saint loves playing with other dogs and he will also read their cures and submit easily to show he means no harm.Saint loves food, allowing him to be easily influenced to be trained! If food is out he will find it!He is incredibly affectionate and wants to be involved with whatever is taking place. He has gotten defensive when strangers come on our property but just needs to be told its okay - he will then be their best friend.Summary: Saint is lovable, a very sweet boy, and needs a lot of attention (whether human or dog). We can no longer provide the effort needed with a baby and want him to be the happiest boy!
