She is incredibly smart, loves learning and thrives with clear communication, structure and routine. She loves being with her people, playing engaging games with her favorite humans and can entertain herself when given proper outlets. She rides great crated in the car and is always ready for an adventure.Khali has been fostered in the O’Fallon/St. Charles County area for over six months by a fear-free dog trainer. Her foster will help support her transition and teach her new home the skills and routines she already knows.Khali needs an adult-only home as the only pet with no cats or small animals. She would do best in a calm, predictable home with someone around often. She cannot stay in her current foster home because she does not get along with the resident dogs and there isn't enough space to safely keep everyone separated.Please share and help Khali find her person!

Raven is my name and kind of like a raven, I am a 'loner'... except for the puppies i had when I arrived at the rescue... I was saved by a trapper on the streets, they weren't even there to save ME that day, but they did!!! I am obviously a beautiful girl, big and solid as well as black and brindly. I am a loving girl, in my own way... i lived on the streets for who knows how long and I honestly am not a cuddly girl or even a sit by your feet dog, YET... I have all kinds of love to give, you can see in my eyes that I have always dreamed of someone with the patience to love me for who I am and who I can be!! I am great on a leash and do love walking around and exploring. I am good with other dogs and likely would do best with another dog who is calm and confident with his/her family. I am so so ready for you, I have the shepherd double coat so I will shed in your house, must have a great vacuum cleaner and tolerance of hair :) Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

I was part of a litter called the Seasoning Squad! I was adopted in 2025 and now I'm back through no fault of my own. My people just didn't have a place for me to stay with them when they moved. I'm thought to be a dutch shepherd mix, but probably a mix of a lot of things. I am a good girl and hoping you'll give me a chance to show it. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! Lola is around 4 years old. We adopted her from a local shelter. She is very smart and loves all the cuddles. She needs a back yard that she run in and get her energy out. She loves to play ball and absolutely loves the snow. Unfortunately we have recently had a change in our living situation and apartment life isn’t for my girl. She is a bit reactive to other dogs when she is on a walk. However she got along great with the neighbors dogs when she is in her own yard. She loves to sniff and smell everything. She walks well on her leash. She is kennel trained and doesn’t mind being in it. I just want her to go to a good home that she can run free and be loved on!
