Story
Sarah is a sweet senior who came to us from an LA shelter where she was scheduled to be euthanized the day we pulled her. She has had a lifetime of untreated ear infections that resulted in two surgeries, with one ear being removed completely. She is now deaf. Despite that, she is an affectionate, sweet and happy girl. She has had a couple of seizures in the past three months and since we are not familiar with her background, we do not know if this is a chronic condition. We are monitoring her though. If you are interested in meeting Sarah, please fill out an application at www.tahoewarf.org and text 775-846-3773.March 13, 2026, 7:19 pm

Story
In Smokey`s youth, he was frequently running stray until he was eventually surrendered by his owner. Smokey is a very smart dog, and when he`s left unattended outside, he finds his way out to make friends. He has even done it to us since being in our care, jumping and climbing over our 10ft fence! While shocking and honestly impressive, we have found he shows no desires to escape when he`s hanging out with a person. Bonus if that person likes to play and throw the ball! Smokey is well behaved in his kennel, and waits patiently for his turn to run in the yard and burn all his energy. He enjoys playing with other dogs of all types and sizes as well! Smokey knows many basic commands including sit, paw, down, stay, place, and has the ground work and the drive to be trained and learn much more! Also, he`s a really great snuggler.

Story
Maverick is a guy who knows what he wants. Sometimes what he wants is to be with his favorite people. This active and energetic guy would do best meeting new people before they come into his home…high value treats and time will help with the introduction. Maverick is a big fan of fetch and snack puzzles. He loves having a snack puzzle to keep him busy if he has to be alone. His favorite toy is a ball and he loves sleeping on his own cozy bed or his crate. Maverick is a guy who responses well to patience and training. Staff can provide some ideas to support his blending into a new family and what resources will help to make your partnership a success.

Story
Moos is an older guy who loves to be active. He is a fan of fetch and destuffing toys. Moos is a good walker and is excited to burn off some energy. He has lived with kids and did great. Moos is not keen on cats and would do best in a home without small animals. He is excited to find his human and begin exploring the hills and trails in the sunny days ahead. Moos deserves to get out of our care and into a great home...can you help a pup out?

Story
Bratzi is a bold, lively little girl who loves her people with her whole heart. She’s friendly, confident, and full of personality — the kind of puppy who wants to be part of everything you’re doing. If she can’t see you, she’ll let you know with a little whine, just to make sure you haven’t forgotten about her. She’s the pup who wants an audience for mealtime, too — Bratzi prefers when her person watches her eat in her crate, and if you walk away, she may stop eating until you return. Once she warms up, she becomes fast friends with other dogs. It took her a day to settle in with the resident dog, but now they’re best buddies, running around and wrestling like they’ve known each other forever.Bratzi is dog‑friendly, kid‑friendly, and unknown with cats. She’s crate trained and settles in within minutes, though she may cry when first left alone. She’s working on potty training and is a bit of a picky eater. She already knows sit and come, and with her bold, dominant personality and high activity level, she thrives with structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement. After a day of playing hard and keeping tabs on her people, Bratzi is happy to settle in and enjoy some affection. Her spirited personality and deep desire to bond make her a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates a confident, people‑oriented pup.Bratzi would thrive in a home that will:• Provide structure, routine, and continued training• Enjoy a bold, affectionate puppy who loves being close• Support her as she continues potty training and builds confidence• Feed her in her crate with supervision to help her feel secure• Include her in daily activities and enrichmentBefore adoption, all Boxers & Buddies dogs are spayed/neutered, up‑to‑date with age‑appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped.
