Story
Meet Honey! True to her Belgian Malinois blend, this pretty lady is equal parts brain, heart, and quirky personality. At roughly a year and a half old with a birthday of November 25, 2024, Honey is looking for an experienced, adult-only home where her goofy character and intelligence can truly shine. Honey is house trained with doggy door experience, spayed, microchipped, and current on vaccinations. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and loves sharing toy time with her canine friends. While fetch isn't really her style, she is an absolute water fanatic who lives for swimming and chasing or playing with the hose. Car rides currently make her a bit nervous, but her foster family is working on building her confidence. Because Belgian Malinois mixes are working dogs, we feel Honey will do best in an adult home with an experienced owner who understands the breed. If you have working breed experience and are ready for a loyal, water-loving companion, please fill out an application so we can tell you more about her and schedule a visit!

Story
Mary and her sisters were on the euth list at a CA shelter and we couldn't let that happen. They are now safe and sound at our sanctuary and will ready for their forever home in May. They are very sweet, playful and energetic girls and can't wait to feel safe and happy in a permanent home. Mary is a 4Âס month old Belgian Malinois puppy bursting with personality and charm. She's incredibly cute, but don't let that fool you—this girl is full of energy, enthusiasm, and a playful, sometimes wild spirit! She loves to run, explore, and stay busy, always looking for something fun to do. As a young Malinois, Mary is very intelligent and quick to pick up on new things, but she will need a home that understands her drive and is committed to ongoing training. She's best suited for an active, experienced household that can give her the structure, exercise, and mental stimulation she craves. Mary is still learning about the world and will benefit from patience and consistency as she grows. With the right guidance, she has all the makings of an incredibly loyal, fun, and devoted companion. If you're ready for an energetic pup who will keep you on your toes and be your adventure partner, Mary could be the perfect fit! If you are interested in Mary, please fill out an application at www.tahoewarf.orgJuly 31, 2026, 11:45 am

Story
Pie is a beautiful 65-pound German Shepherd/Husky mix with a gentle heart and a resilient spirit. Pie's journey hasn't always been easy. She was surrendered to Boxers & Buddies shortly after giving birth to a litter of puppies when her previous owner could no longer care for them. Once her puppies found loving homes, it was finally Pie's turn to be the one receiving all the love and attention.More recently, Pie was adopted but unfortunately returned when her adopter was unable to move forward with the medical care she needed. She underwent surgery to have a painful eye removed and is recovering beautifully. Pie hasn't let this setback slow her down one bit—she's happy, resilient, and ready to begin the next chapter of her life with a family who will love her just as she is.This sweet, affectionate girl has settled beautifully into foster care. She gets along well with the five resident dogs in her foster home and also lives peacefully with cats. She enjoys encouraging her feline friends to play, so any future cat companions should be comfortable sharing their home with a friendly, playful dog.Like many German Shepherd mixes, Pie is intelligent and enjoys having both her mind and body engaged. While she also appreciates relaxing with her people, she'll thrive in a home that provides daily walks, enrichment activities, training, and opportunities to learn. Without enough mental stimulation, she may become bored and look for her own entertainment—including testing the limits of a fence if left unattended outdoors.Because Pie is a strong, enthusiastic 65-pound dog who is still working on polite greetings, we'd recommend a home with children 5 years or older. With continued positive reinforcement, structure, and consistency, she's already showing what an incredible companion she can be.Pie would thrive in a home that will:❤️ Continue her training and provide consistent guidance.❤️ Offer daily exercise and mental enrichment.❤️ Appreciate a loyal, loving, and intelligent companion.❤️ Give her the fresh start she truly deserves. We require professional obedience training from a certified trainer for ALL adoptions. Story
Supe is a beautiful 59-pound German Shepherd with a gentle heart and a story of resilience. She was found as a stray in California while caring for her litter of nine puppies. Despite the challenges she has faced, Supe has been a devoted mother and is now ready for a chance at a life of her own.Supe is a sweet girl who wants to trust, but the world can still feel like a scary place. New people, unfamiliar environments, and sudden changes can be overwhelming for her, and she is looking for a patient family willing to let her move at her own pace. She is not looking for perfection—just kindness, understanding, and a safe place to decompress. As she settles in and learns that she is finally safe, Supe continues to show her gentle nature. She enjoys quiet companionship and is beginning to discover that people can be a source of comfort rather than fear.Supe would thrive in a calm home that can provide:• Patience and understanding as she builds confidence• A predictable routine and stable environment• Positive reinforcement and gentle guidance• Time to adjust and learn to trustWatching a fearful dog blossom is one of the most rewarding experiences in rescue, and Supe has so much potential waiting to shine through. She deserves a family that will see beyond her uncertainty and give her the chance to become the confident, loved companion she was always meant to be.Before adoption, all Boxers and Buddies dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date with age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped. All dogs are fostered in a foster home where they are treated like family - practicing socialization skills. After submitting an application, our team will contact you within 24 hours. The adoption process includes an interview, home check, and meet-and-greet. All household dogs must attend the meet-and-greet. Renters must provide proof that dogs are permitted by their lease, and adopters are required to complete a training course with a certified positive reinforcement trainer. We require professional obedience training from a certified trainer for ALL adoptions.
