Story
Meet Sara — Your New Best Friend in a Perfectly Trained, 45-Pound Package of Love At just 20 months old, Miss Sara is already proving to be the kind of once-in-a-lifetime dog everyone hopes for—smart, affectionate, eager to please, and now… beautifully trained. Originally adopted as a puppy, Sara was very loved—but when her owner sadly fell ill and could no longer care for her, everything changed. She returned to us with a heart full of love, but without the manners every young pup needs. We knew this girl had potential, so off she went to a professional 3-week training program… and wow, is she showing off. &#226&#156&#133 Training? She’s nailing it. &#226&#156&#133 People? She adores them. &#226&#156&#133 Dogs? Instant besties. &#226&#156&#133 Kids? She belly-crawls just to be close to them—it’s beyond precious. We believe she’s a Dutch Shepherd mix, weighing in at about 45 pounds, with a gorgeous, sleek coat and a heart that beats for human connection. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines—and yes, ready to go! Now, she’s just looking for a home that can match her devotion with love and guidance. Toys are her jam, and she’ll happily entertain herself or join you for a game of fetch. No kitties for this girl, please! Chasing them is just too much fun, and she needs a cat-free home to thrive. Sara is the kind of dog who makes you feel like the most important person in the world. Her loyalty is unmatched, her spirit is bright, and her readiness for her forever home couldn’t be clearer. Interested in giving this beautiful girl her happily-ever-after? Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com today. Let Sara show you what love, intelligence, and a second chance can really look like. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 11, 2025, 9:36 pm

Story
Meet Foxie – From Survivor to Playful Running Buddy Foxie is a beautiful brindle girl with striking coloring reminiscent of a Dutch Shepherd. When she first arrived, her body showed clear signs that she had very recently had puppies. We don’t know what happened to them—whether they were taken or lost—but it’s evident she’s endured something heartbreaking. Since then, Foxie has made incredible progress and is now at a healthy weight. She is up to date on vaccinations, smart, eager to please, playful, exuberant, and full of life. She makes a wonderful running partner and loves to check in with her person during walks or runs, clearly enjoying that connection. Foxie does have a slightly off gait, which her veterinarian believes is the result of a previous incident. Importantly, the vet has confirmed that she is not currently in pain. It doesn’t slow her down or affect her zest for life—just another detail that makes Foxie uniquely herself. She has done great with the other dogs she’s met and comes across as social, adaptable, and highly engaged with her people. Foxie would thrive in an active home that can keep up with her energy, enjoy training and enrichment, and continue giving her the love and stability she deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal, athletic, and intelligent companion to join you on runs, adventures, and everyday life, Foxie might just be the perfect fit. 📩 To learn more or schedule a visit, please email adoptpetersburg@gmail.com.

Story
Location: Powhatan, VANesta is a beautiful young mixed breed girl under a year old with a big heart and an even bigger love for affection. Her mom was a German Shepherd/Collie mix, and while we’re not sure who dad was, we do know Nesta inherited a sweet, people-loving personality. This happy girl is all about attention and absolutely LOVES hugs—she’ll happily lean in close and soak up all the affection you’re willing to give. Nesta seems to do well with other dogs, but she is not a good fit for a home with cats. Being young, Nesta is still learning and growing, making this a wonderful time to help her build confidence, manners, and lifelong bonds. If you’re looking for a loving, affectionate companion who wants to be close to her people, Nesta may be the perfect addition to your family. Come meet her and experience her sweet hugs for yourself!
