IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit: Caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. AVAILABLE FOR OUR FOSTER TO ADOPT PROGRAM Meet Jake! Jake is about 1 year old and weighs around 40 lbs. We believe he may be a Malinois/German Shepherd mix (just a guess!). Jake is a happy, eager-to-please boy with a sweet personality. He can be a bit on the nervous side at times, so he will need an adopter who has experience with Shepherd-type breeds and understands their needs. Jake is very smart and highly food motivated, and his foster mom is already working with him on commands. Because of his intelligence and drive, Jake could really excel as a sporting dog or in activities like agility, obedience, or other canine sports. Jake absolutely loves other dogs and would do best in a home with another young, playful dog who is his size or larger. He can be a bit pushy during play, so a confident playmate who enjoys rough-and-tumble fun would be ideal. Jake has met young children, but they seem to make him nervous. Because of this, we feel he would do best in a home with children 11 years and older, if any. As a working-breed dog, Jake will need an adopter committed to continuing his training and providing both mental and physical exercise. A home with a securely fenced yard is required so Jake can safely run, play, and burn off his energy. Jake is both house trained and crate trained and is ready to find a forever home that will give him the structure, activity, and love he deserves. 🐾 Jake is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. The Adoption Fee is $375.00 ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

Story
Foxie is a beautiful brindle girl with the striking markings of a Dutch Shepherd and a heart that has been through more than most. When she first arrived, her body showed clear signs that she had very recently had puppies. We will never know what became of them, whether they were taken or lost, only that Foxie came to us having already survived something heartbreaking. She has spent more than 400 days waiting for a family of her own, and we honestly cannot understand why she is still here. Foxie is everything people say they are looking for. She is smart, eager to learn, and deeply connected to her people. She is playful, exuberant, and full of life, with the athleticism to keep up on any adventure and the sweetness to be just as content by your side at the end of the day. One of our favorite things about Foxie is the way she checks in with her person on walks and runs. She does not just want to explore the world. She wants to experience it with you. She makes a wonderful running and hiking partner, and she would thrive with someone active who enjoys training, enrichment, and good company. Her veterinarian believes her slightly different gait is the result of an old injury, but she is pain-free and does not let it slow her down for a moment. You would never know it watching her sprint happily across the play yard. She has also done great with the other dogs she has met and comes across as social, adaptable, and endlessly engaged with the people she loves. Foxie is spayed and up to date on vaccinations. She is back to a healthy weight and more than ready for the soft place to land that she has earned many times over. After everything she has given, we think it is time someone finally sees what we have seen all along. Foxie is not just our longest resident. She is a perfect adventure buddy, a loyal companion, and a best friend waiting to happen. Could that someone be you? To meet Foxie or learn more about her, email adoptpetersburg@gmail.com.

Story
Raven is my name and kind of like a raven, I am a 'loner'... except for the puppies i had when I arrived at the rescue... I was saved by a trapper on the streets, they weren't even there to save ME that day, but they did!!! I am obviously a beautiful girl, big and solid as well as black and brindly. I am a loving girl, in my own way... i lived on the streets for who knows how long and I honestly am not a cuddly girl or even a sit by your feet dog, YET... I have all kinds of love to give, you can see in my eyes that I have always dreamed of someone with the patience to love me for who I am and who I can be!! I am great on a leash and do love walking around and exploring. I am good with other dogs and likely would do best with another dog who is calm and confident with his/her family. I am so so ready for you, I have the shepherd double coat so I will shed in your house, must have a great vacuum cleaner and tolerance of hair :) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)
