Story
Bruno is a 6-year-old Feist mix with a huge heart and an even bigger love for cuddling. If you're looking for a loyal companion who wants nothing more than to curl up next to you on the couch after a long day, Bruno is your guy. He's affectionate, gentle in the home, loves being with his people, and is happiest living the couch potato life. Bruno is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, healthy, well cared for, and well loved. Bruno needs a calm, low-stimulation home without children. He has a history of resource guarding, including a bite history, so he needs an experienced owner who understands canine behavior and is committed to setting him up for success. Because of this, he isn't a good fit for a busy household, but we believe he can thrive in the right environment. This has been an incredibly difficult decision, and our priority is finding Bruno the home he deserves. We'd love to find someone who is open to an open adoption, where we could receive occasional updates.

Story
Cinnamon is a 5 month old, 25 lb Feist mix with a whole lot of sparkle and the happiest puppy personality! Quick Facts: Name: Cinnamon Breed: Feist mix Age: 5 months old Weight: 25 lbs. House-Trained: Working on it! Crate-Trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes (likes to play!) Good with Cats: No – she will bark at them Good with Kids: Yes (best with school-aged kids that she can’t knock over) Energy Level: High, very playful Fence Required: No Dog's Location: Fremont, NC About Cinnamon’s Breed: Our best guess is that Cinnamon is a Feist mixed breed. Feist mixes are known for their bright, energetic, and quick thinking nature, often blending the Feist’s traditional hunting instincts with a playful, affectionate temperament. They’re agile little athletes with sharp minds, making them fun, interactive companions who love exploring, learning, and staying busy. Many Feist mixes are deeply people oriented and thrive when they can be part of the action, whether that’s playtime, training, or simply being near their humans. Their ideal home is one that offers structure, activity, and positive guidance. Because Feists tend to be high energy and curious, they shine in environments where they can run, play, and engage their brains. A family that enjoys daily walks, outdoor adventures, and consistent training will help them grow into confident, well mannered dogs. They do well with respectful children, active doggie siblings, and homes that appreciate a spirited, affectionate companion who loves to be included. What to Love about Cinnamon: Cinnamon is all play, all joy, and all heart — whether she’s zooming around the yard, chewing her favorite toys, or curling up for cuddles with her humans! She is an active girl who’s eager to learn how to be the best puppy she can be, and she responds well to direction. She has a confident, dominant play style and is always ready for fun! She loves people and greets everyone with enthusiasm, but because she’s still learning her manners and can be a bit rough in play, she’d do best with kids over 7 who can handle her bouncy energy. Cinnamon would thrive with a doggie sibling who enjoys active play, though she’d also be perfectly happy as an only dog soaking up all the affection. She’s great with dogs who match her energy but tends to bark at cats, so her ideal home is cat free. Cinnamon is working on her potty training and doing well with consistency. She’s crate trained and settles nicely when left alone. She’s also learning her leash manners — she pulls a bit because she’s excited to explore, but she’s improving every day. With her zest for life, love of adventure, and cuddly nature, Cinnamon is ready to bring joy, laughter, and endless puppy fun to her forever family! Cinnamon’s Sensational Highlights: • 5 month old, 25 lb Feist mix with a bright, happy personality • All puppy energy — loves to play, run, chew, and cuddle • Active and eager to learn — takes direction well with consistent training • Confident, dominant play style and always ready for fun • Best with kids 7+ due to her bouncy, rough and tumble play • Dog friendly — thrives with energetic playmates but also happy as an only dog • Cat free home recommended since she tends to bark at cats • Working on potty training and improving with consistency • Crate trained and settles well when left alone • Learning leash manners — pulls from excitement but loves adventures Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Story
Holy Cannoli, this girl is something special! Sweeter than her namesake, Cannoli is an all-around wonderful dog searching for the forever family she's been waiting for. At 35 pounds, she's a slightly oversized lap dog, but don't bother trying to convince her otherwise! If you're sitting down, she'll happily volunteer to keep your lap warm. More than anything, Cannoli loves being with her people and will politely ask for all the affection you're willing to give. Cannoli enjoys long walks, the occasional hike, and exploring the world with her humans. She's great on a slip lead or harness and walks nicely, though she can't help keeping an eye on those mischievous neighborhood squirrels. She's friendly and polite when meeting new people and other dogs on her adventures. At home, Cannoli settles in beautifully. She loves her crate, sleeps quietly through the night, and is just as happy napping or playing indoors as she is heading out for an adventure. She's still working on her house-training, so she'll do best with a consistent schedule while she continues to learn. Cannoli has enjoyed living with her two foster dog brothers and would be happy to share her home with another canine companion—or soak up all the attention as your one and only. She's also done well with younger children and has all the makings of a wonderful family dog. If you're looking for a loyal shadow, a cuddle buddy, and a best friend wrapped into one adorable package, Cannoli is your girl. Her heart belongs to her humans, and she has a lifetime of love to give to the family lucky enough to call her their own. Could that family be yours?

Story
Chip is an energetic young puppy looking for his perfect match. He loves treats & toys and never says no to a walk. Chip is also happy to snuggle up on the couch to watch tv or read a book with you. Chip is working hard on his manners and potty training. He is already a pro at playing fetch and is eager to learn more tricks! **Hiking feedback: " Chip was an awesome little hiking partner! This pint-sized bundle of energy was full of beans for the entire three miles—even when the grass was taller than he was! He tackled the trail with curiosity, confidence, and plenty of spunk. Chip happily took treats, greeted other pups with playful curiosity, and treated every human he met like a brand-new friend. And when it was time for a break, he was more than happy to snuggle in for pets and kisses. Chip will make a wonderful companion for someone who loves walks, visiting new places, and plenty of snuggles afterward!
