Story
***AVAILABLE ON-SITE FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS ONLY*** This little girl is so sweet and affectionate! At first blush, Brooke seems shy but that’s temporary and it only takes her a minute to warm up. She’s a young lady who still has some puppy energy! Brooke loves to lean in close, receive treats, and play with toys. Most of all, she likes collecting your shoes and taking them back to her crate as her prized possessions! Brooke doesn't have much experience walking on a leash or with potty training, but she is smart and ready to learn. In her foster home she has already learned how to use puppy pads, so with practice and routine, she will get the hang of it! Brooke gets along with dogs of all sizes, though a slow introduction is the key to success. Brooke is curious about cats and might want to chase if they run, but is generally respectful. Overall, Brooke is a gentle soul who is content to snuggle up on the couch with you, yet she also has that perfect spark of energy to keep things lively!

Story
*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE ONLY FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS *** Laura and Connie came to Saving Grace together, and they would love to find a furever home together if possible. We would adopt these two to the same home for one adoption fee. Meet Laura, a gentle, vigilant explorer who is looking for a patient heart to call her own! This sweet girl is the definition of a "good house guest"—she seems to be fully house-trained with zero accidents when kept on a routine and can be trusted to roam the house freely without any trouble. We think she may have some visual impairments, although she still gets around ok. While she is a skittish girl who stays on high alert, her curiosity always wins out in the end. You’ll often find her peek-a-boo snacking (she absolutely loves to eat but likes to do so in private!) or trotting over to give you a quick, curious sniff and tail wags before darting back to safety. She is a quiet companion and would be a very peaceful addition to a calm home. Laura is looking for a specific kind of love—the kind that understands great things take time! While she isn't a fan of being held and will stiffen her body if picked up, she is finding her own way to show affection. After only 2 weeks in her foster home, she has already started jumping up on the couch to lounge nearby her foster mom, and once she feels settled, she’ll even roll over for those coveted belly rubs! When life gets a little too loud, she finds comfort in her "safe spot" hiding behind the sofa, but when she’s feeling brave, she’s the ultimate couch potato. Because she is a fast-moving girl who is very hard to catch if she gets loose, she needs a secure environment and an owner who is happy to let her bloom at her own pace. Laura would blossom best in an adult-only home. For the patient adopter, the reward of Laura’s hard-earned trust is truly the greatest gift of all!

Story
*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE ONLY FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS *** Laura and Connie came to Saving Grace together, and they would love to find a furever home together if possible. We would adopt these two to the same home for one adoption fee. Meet Connie, the gentle, silly gal who is ready to find her forever family! Connie is the ultimate "low-maintenance" companion; she seems to be fully house-trained when kept on a routine and can be completely trusted to roam the house freely without any mischief. While she hasn’t quite found her voice yet—we’ve actually never heard her bark—she is always on high alert, curiously observing the world with her soulful eyes. Connie is a bit skittish and runs away from loud noises, but don't let that fool you; she is incredibly social and truly wants to be wherever her people are. In fact, her favorite way to say hello is a submissive "army crawl" across the floor until she reaches you, followed immediately by a roll onto her back for those much-needed belly rubs. When she’s not keeping a watchful eye on things, Connie loves to let loose in the yard with a classic case of the zoomies. Leash walking is new for her, and is a little scary at times, but with quiet encouragement, we bet she’ll be ready to prance around the neighborhood in her own time. She is wonderful with other pups and will politely initiate play if they’re up for it, but she’s also respectful enough to give them space if they’d rather nap. At the end of the day, she is an absolute dream in her crate, sleeping soundly and quietly through the night. While she is currently working on gaining a little weight and growing in her thin coat, she’s a dainty eater who prefers to graze through the day. If you’re looking for a curious, loyal, and incredibly sweet girl to complete your family, Connie is waiting to "army crawl" her way right into your heart!

These pups are in Cary, North Carolina too!

Story
Meet PoppyLeigh — a 8 month old, 12 lb Chihuahua with three legs and a brave little heart. Quick Facts: Name: PoppyLeigh Breed: Chihuahua Mix Age: 8 months old Weight: 12 lbs. House-Trained: Almost! Crate-Trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Not yet tested Good with Kids: No Energy Level: Medium to high, very playful Fence Required: Yes, this is a must! About PoppyLeigh’s Breed: Our best guess is that PoppyLeigh is a Chihuahua mixed breed. Chihuahuas are bold, confident and loyal. They are affectionate with their people but can be wary of strangers but warm up quickly. They are intelligent and trainable, though they may be a little stubborn at times, but they keep it interesting! They are also known to be vocal and love to “chit chat”! What to Love about PoppyLeigh: PoppyLeigh is a happy, playful, energetic puppy who loves to explore and be near her humans. She is almost fully potty trained, uses pee pads, and is crate trained — she even runs into her crate for treats and sleeps quietly through the night. Because she’s still learning about leashes and can be timid in new situations, a fenced in yard is required so she can safely build confidence at her own pace. PoppyLeigh is shy when meeting new people, but with patience and gentle handling, she will eventually warm up. Her person needs to be very patient and calm, giving her as much time as she needs to fully open up and trust. She enjoys the company of other dogs, and would love a canine friend to play with. She hasn’t met cats yet, but her nature suggests she’d likely be fine. PoppyLeigh had a growth plate that didn't fully close in one leg and had surgery to have one of her legs removed, but that doesn't affect her quality of life or slow her down one bit! She is faster and gets around just like every other dog! PoppyLeigh’s Highlights: • 8 month old, 6 lb Chihuahua with a stable orthopedic difference that doesn’t affect her comfort or happiness • Has three legs - but gets around better than most dogs with 41! • Almost fully potty trained, uses pee pads, and crate trained (sleeps quietly all night!) • Fence required — still learning about leashes and feels safest exploring freely • Timid at first but warms up with gentle, patient introductions, so she will need someone who can give her time to open up • Comfortable around other dogs • Medium to high puppy energy and loves to play • Very smart, trainable, and eager to please • Loves being near her humans and would enjoy a doggie friend for company Smart, loving, trainable, and full of joy — PoppyLeigh is ready to bring her unique charm and endless affection to the forever family who will adore her just as she is! Meet Luffy (AKA Teddy) – A Sweet Little Sidekick with the Cutest Sleeping Positions Quick Facts: Breed: Chihuahua/Dachshund/Jack Russell mix Age: 7 months Weight: 8 lbs House-Trained: Almost completely (also uses pee pads) Crate-Trained: Unknown (should be monitored until out of puppy stage) Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Not tested (suspected to do well) Good with Kids: Yes Energy Level: Medium Fence Required: No Special Traits: Submissive play style, snuggly, walks great on leash Why You’ll Love Luffy (AKA Teddy): Sleeps in the funniest, most adorable positions Sweet and affectionate personality Easygoing and adaptable Great with adults, kids, and other dogs Walks beautifully on leash Playful without being overwhelming About Luffy’s Breed: With a mix of Chihuahua, Dachshund, and Jack Russell, Luffy brings together intelligence, loyalty, and playful spirit. These breeds are known for forming strong bonds with their people while still enjoying interactive play and daily activity. With continued structure and guidance, this mix makes a loving and engaging companion. Luffy’s Story & Personality: Luffy (also lovingly called Teddy) is a sweet, snuggly boy who brings joy wherever he goes. He has a medium energy level — playful and happy when it’s time to engage, but perfectly content to relax and cuddle beside you. He is almost completely housebroken and will also use pee pads, which is a wonderful bonus for continued training. While his crate training status is unknown, he should be monitored when left alone until he fully matures out of the puppy stage. Luffy walks great on a leash and does not require a fenced yard, making him a good fit for a variety of living situations. He has a submissive play style and gets along very well with adults, kids, and other dogs. While he has not been cat tested, his gentle and easygoing nature suggests he would likely adjust well with proper introductions. One of the most charming things about Luffy is the way he sleeps — often in the funniest and cutest positions imaginable. He truly is a sweet, playful, easygoing little companion. Luffy’s Ideal Home: Family ready to continue positive puppy guidance Home that can monitor him while he finishes maturing Someone who enjoys both playtime and snuggle time Household looking for a friendly, adaptable small dog Ready for Sweet Snuggles and Silly Sleeping Positions? Luffy (AKA Teddy) is the kind of puppy who brings smiles, cuddles, and playful joy into everyday life. If you’re looking for a loving little companion with a gentle spirit, Luffy may be your perfect match. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. Story
Meet Boomer — a 1&#226&#128&#145year&#226&#128&#145old, 16 lb Chihuahua mix with a tender heart, a silly streak, and a deep love for canine companionship.   Quick Facts: Name: Boomer Breed: Chihuahua Mix Age: 1 year old Weight: 16 lbs. House-Trained: Not yet Crate-Trained: No Good with Dogs: Yes (must have a companion dog in his forever home) Good with Cats: Likely ok Good with Kids: Preferably no – may do fine with older, calm children Energy Level: Medium Fence Required: Yes   About Boomer’s Breed: Our best guess is that Boomer is a Chihuahua mixed breed. Chihuahuas are bold, confident and loyal. They are affectionate with their people but can be wary of strangers but warm up quickly. They are intelligent and trainable, though they may be a little stubborn at times, but they keep it interesting! They are also known to be vocal and love to “chit chat”!   All About Boomer: Boomer is still working on his potty and crate training, but he does well when left uncrated with pee pads. Because of his rough and unknown past, he needs a little time to warm up and can be nervous around new people. He responds especially well to calm, gentle female energy and would do best in a kid&#226&#128&#145free home, as sudden movements can overwhelm him. Boomer would really love a home where someone would be with him, for most of the day, or not be gone for more than 5-6 hours per day.   What truly helps Boomer shine is the presence of another dog. He gains confidence from canine friends, loves playing with them, and even shares his toys beautifully. He hasn’t met cats yet, but given how well he does with dogs of all sizes, he would likely do fine with feline friends too.   Boomer has a medium energy level—he enjoys playtime and long walks but isn’t overly energetic. Once he trusts the person holding the leash, he walks nicely and has an easygoing, submissive play style. He would thrive with an experienced, patient owner, ideally someone familiar with small dogs or hoarder&#226&#128&#145rescue backgrounds who can offer gentle structure and consistent training. Once Boomer feels safe, his personality blossoms! He becomes a silly, sweet little guy who loves carrying his lamb chop toy around, sneaking socks when no one’s looking, and soaking up chest and chin scratches. His zoomies before walks or after baths are absolutely adorable and show just how joyful he can be.   Boomer’s Highlights: 1 year old, 16 lbs, Chihuahua mix Needs a dog companion for confidence and comfort Best in a kid&#226&#128&#145free, calm home Medium energy, loves walks and playtime Nervous at first but becomes sweet, silly, and affectionate Good with dogs, likely good with cats Needs a patient, experienced owner Loves toys, snuggles, and showing off his zoomies   Boomer is a gentle soul who just needs the right person and the right dog friend to help him feel safe. Once he trusts you, he becomes the sweetest, funniest little companion—full of love, quirks, and charm.       Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/.
