CUTE PUPPY ALERT! Are you ready for some silly fun in your life? SPUD and TATER are here to help. They are 11 week old puppies, currently just under 7 pounds. Spud and Tater came from a backyard breeder who was breeding Feists, a small southern dog breed. We aren't sure what the actual breed is on these pups, we think they look like Jack Russel Terrier mixes. Spud and Tater are full of puppy shenanigans and are best suited to homes with another playful dog. We estimate they will grow to be 20-25 pounds when fully grown. If you've been following us over the last month, you may recall ELO, WIGGLES and SHORTY. They came from the same owner. None of the dogs on the property were larger than 25 pounds. If you would like to meet Spud or Tater, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. Spud and Tater will go to their furever homes on a trial basis. Their adoptions will be finalized when all of the vetting covered by their adoption fee is completed. Spud and Tater need to go to homes in the greater Cincinnati in order to complete their vetting. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention. Meet Alice! Alice is a female chihuahua mix weighing in at 7 pounds. She is on the search for her fur-ever home! Alice was born in September 2019 which makes her just over 6 years old now. Poor Alice was not treated well prior to coming into rescue. It is believed she was used as a breeder dog at a backyard breeder. She has come a long way since being with her foster family. Alice needs to be treated like the queen she is- she deserves the finest things in life! She is a fun-loving little gal, but has to live life on her terms. A few things to know about Alice: she really is not fond of other dogs, unless they are little and leave her alone, but even then, she can be cranky with them. That being said, it has been determined that Alice should be the only dog in her new home. She will need an adult only home, no kids at all. Alice also needs time to get to know new people- all of her vets talked to her first, walked around the room so Alice could go to know them, then they would pick her up and she was okay with that. Alice doesn’t like people sticking their face in her face. She should be in a home without children but is good with adults who know how to handle her and be respectful. Alice is a good eater and not fussy when it comes to food. She likes car rides- her foster family has a seat that they buckle her into but it sits on the console in the middle of both adults and Alice really seems to love that! Due to her arthritis, she should go to a home without steps; she can’t go up stairs on her own. Her foster family has a ramp but most of the time they carry her outside to go potty and carry her back inside. She should be carried or have a stroller, as she should not walk that much, except for going potty and around the yard. As she gets older, she will need more care as she will develop severe arthritis, so maybe pain meds, anti inflammatories, maybe a cart; for now, she can get around and at the times she cannot, her foster parents carry her and/or use a stroller. This cutie is Chance! Chance is a 7 year old, 14 pound male chihuahua mix in need of a forever home. Chance has white and cream fur, the cutest floppy ears, and a great smile! Chance is very playful and loves to wiggle and squirm around. He can be a bit nippy at first when he’s scared and can be a little slow to warm up, but once he trusts, he is the perfect companion. Chance is the perfect mix of energetic and snuggly. Even his foster mom’s resident chihuahua, who usually isn’t a fan of other dogs, loves Chance! Chance is housetrained. He is also up to date on all vaccinations and has been completely vetted. He has been neutered and microchipped as well. He is heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm prevention.
