Sweet Sugar was found roaming dirt roads with another female ( believed to be her mom ) When we pulled up , she jumped in the truck like she had been my foster kid forever... She doesn't meet a stranger, always happy to play, or just lay around close to you. She is a snuggly bug and will hog the couch or your lap. Currently fostered in Texas Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given. To get approved please visit our website www.texaschihuahuarescuecanada.org to fill in an application to adopt. Peewee is a shy and gentle boy. Apx 8 years old and 12 pounds. He takes a couple days to warm up with new people and places. Good with other dogs. He does not bite but he is hesitant to be picked up by strangers , and I would not necessarily put it past him to possibly fear your nip if somebody was not paying attention to his body language and went too fast or cornered him. No children please. Peewee is a gentle and quiet soul. Once he gets used to you, which does not take long, he is up in your lap and wanting to give you a little kiss kisses and he just wants somebody to love him. He is a very good boy. He just needs some confidence building and socializing . A quiet loving home would be best for him with no you g children or hyper dogs. He is a very relaxed dude but also gets the zoomies and does the little dances sometimes as well. He needs routine, stability and comfort. He is just not a fan of a lot of chaos or change. He is a very snuggly and loving boy once he settles in, he just needs someone to give him a chance. He gets a dental May 7th

Story
Abby is currently being fostered in Texas but will be arriving in Ontario soon! Meet Abby. She was rescued from the Nee Braunfels Humane Society and was part of a very bad hoarding case. She is apx 2 years young and weighs apx 8 pounds. She was very shy on her first day here but every day she comes out of her shell little by little. She is not just going to go up and jump into a strangers lap and give them kisses. This is a dog that’s going to need some time to decompress and get used to new surroundings. She is not feral. She just needs to gain some confidence and be socialized more. Lots of love, doting upon, lots of baby talk, and positive affirmations and in a couple days she will be crawling in your lap. She is great with all other dogs, cats and well mannered children. She is a gentle soul and needs a gentle family. She needs a well fenced yard as she is not ready for the leash and harness. I think that she will become. comfortable in time once she bonds with her people and gets used to her new surroundings. Abby is doing very well here considering her background and has warmed up to us in a very short period of time so I have no doubt she has such amazing potential to be a perfect little companion in her forever home. Please just have to give her a chance. ❤️ 💜 Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given. Story
PLEASE NOTE: Transport fee to Canada will be required. Cricket is still awaiting that perfect person. He is apx 12 years young and 10.5 pounds .He was adopted but returned because he bit the neighbor. Cricket takes a while to warm up to new people, more than a day, maybe more than a week, but he does. He never attacks or bites people out of no where , he is fine with having friends over but he does not like being cornered or picked up by strangers, provoked or pet by people he does not know. He also does not like boy dogs but he loves the ladies and has several girlfriends here at the ranch. He does not like people kissing him in the face even if he does love you he is not a face kisser. Cricket is also heartworm positive and on the slow kill method. He was born in his home, he lived with his elderly human father for 12 full years. He has always been wonderful with me and adores me, since day one. So he is just particular with his people. He loves everyone that works and volunteers at the rescue but some took longer to warm up than others. He is a very sweet and loving gentleman once he warms up to you. He is an easy dog once he warms up, you just have to give him time and space and within a few weeks he will following you everywhere and crawling in your lap for cuddles and sleeping next to you in bed. He had a dental. He had a proheart injection, he loves food, he is not a big barker unless a stranger comes over. He has pretty good potty manners but may mark the first couple days. He is actually a gentle quiet soul that just thinks for some reason he has to make himself larger than life when he is scared or uncertain or nervous. You will fall in love with Cricket. It may not be the first night , but he weasels his way into your heart, you will see.
