Story
Est. DOB: 3/3/25   Navi  was found in a park in downtown Houston fending for himself. He went from person to person hoping someone would do more than just walk by. For such a young pup it's clear  Navi ’s early life wasn’t easy; he carries the physical reminders of his past on his face. While he may not have a "perfect" appearance by traditional standards his skin is healthy, and with the continued power of good nutrition and a little TLC, some of those scars may even fill in over time.   Our veterinarian's say  Navi  is a healthy boy and is also heartworm negative!  Navi  is a happy, playful boy who absolutely loves toys, being silly, and playing with his foster siblings. He’s affectionate, wiggly, and has a way of making everyone in the room smile.    Navi  proves that beauty is found in spirit. He is looking for a family that sees past his scars and recognizes the lovable, sweet soul he truly is. Ready to meet your new best friend?  Navi  is eager to find a couch to crash on and a yard to play in. We schedule meet and greets throughout the week and on weekends!  Navi  is waiting to show you that he’s not just "perfect for someone"—he might just be perfect for you   Please consider making this lovely boy a member of your family. As we are a foster based rescue, we do require a completed application to be submitted before we arrange a meet.  This can be found on our website at   https://almosthomepetrescue.org/apply-now-1     $200 adoption fee includes core vaccinations, rabies vaccination, heart worm test (in dogs over 6 months of age), microchip and registration, spay/neuter, wormer and flea and heart worm prevention while the dog is in our care. All breed, age,  and size categorizations are estimates.    If transporting out of state to available locations, the total adoption cost will be $500. This amount is inclusive of adoption fee, transport fee, health certificate, and taxes. April 27, 2026, 5:49 pm

Story
Est. DOB: 1/19/16 Current Weight: 8lbs   Meet  Pancho    Pancho  is a Chihuahua with a heart far bigger than his tiny frame. He was lucky enough to spend most of his life in a loving home with a devoted mom who adored him. When she passed away,  Pancho ’s world was turned upside down. After family members realized they could not care for him and his brother, JD, Almost Home graciously welcomed both boys into their foster program—giving  Pancho  a safe place to land and a chance at a new beginning.   Don’t let his age fool you— Pancho  has the perfect senior balance. He still enjoys playtime and exploring outdoors, but he’s just as happy settling in for peaceful snuggles when it’s time to relax. He adapted quickly to his foster home and has become a cherished member of his “pack of littles.”  Pancho  is funny, expressive, and full of personality. He loves giving affection and soaking it right back up. At night, he happily burrows under a fluffy blanket and enjoys all the love he can get. In the mornings, he starts the day by jumping into his foster mom’s lap, snuggling into her neck, and asking—very enthusiastically—for extended cuddle time.    Pancho  would be a wonderful addition to a family looking for a lot of love in a tiny package. He does well with other small dogs, has been around adults and older children without issue, and is easily adaptable. Most of all, he will work very hard to win your heart—and once he does, he’s all yours.  Pancho  would do best in a home where humans were home most of the time or willing to take him on car rides, walks, or to the pet store.   Pancho : small dog, big love, endless snuggles.   [Insert profile information from foster. Make adjustments where necessary. For house/potty training, need to include to always expect an adjustment period. Story
Sila was originally my grandma’s neglected dog; I got her out of that situation and she’s been my dog ever since. I would love for her to continue to be a part of my family, but she doesn’t get along with my other dog because of their different temperaments. Due to this, Sila stays in a kennel while I attend highschool & although I would love to take her with me to college I know there’s very few schools that’ll allow me to live off campus as a first year. This hinders my ability to continue to be her caretaker which is why I’m accepting the fact that she might have to find a great new home. Sila is one of the friendliest dogs I know & she’ll will always be so excited to see you come home, always try to lick your face, & always knows when you’re down so that she can try and cheer you up. Sila’s also not a very picky eater when it comes to kibble & she has experience with a dog kennel. She's also not overtly aggressive towards humans & has a deep fear of rain.
