At 10 1/2 years old and weighing in at nearly 10 pounds, he’s the perfect blend of obedience and alertness. Once Kokomo finds his special human, his loyalty is unwavering. Kokomo loves to be by your side—whether he's sitting next to you or sleeping in your bed, though he prefers not to be a lapdog. His delightful character makes him a truly unique companion, especially when it comes to treats! This lovable pup is both housetrained and crate trained, and he has no known health issues. Kokomo would thrive as the only pet in a calm household, as he is a bit of a loner and is not suited for homes with children. With plenty of love to offer, Kokomo is eagerly awaiting the right person to share his affection with. Sometimes we get the most unusual phone calls that prick our heart with the intensity of a desperate need, even if they are a thousand miles away.   Trooper, and some of his friends from New Mexico have entered our world and we are trying to help.  There's a rural shelter in a small town in New Mexico that very few people stop in to adopt. But yet, the drop offs continue to build, and adoptions do not match the number of dogs in the shelter.  A very dedicated and passionate rescue woman that drives her own independent tractor trailer, moving loads of cargo in freight from state to state, from job to job, has learned that she must stop in at that shelter and check out what they have on the euthanasia list.  She is an independent lady who champions the underdogs.  She gave Critter Cavalry  a call and told us about a number of small breed dogs that are under twenty pounds that needed a rescue to save them.  Critter Cavalry signed up. Trooper is an adorable 6 month old small breed boy that we think is a Chiweenie. Trooper, is a beautiful boy who is six months old and weighs 8 pounds and will most probably top out as an adult boy at 15 pounds. He is cuddly, shy and great with other dogs.   “Lightning Strikes Twice…Right Into Your Heart” At just 12 weeks old and a tiny 6 pounds, Flash is already living up to his name—zipping, zooming, and stealing hearts in record time. One minute he’s playfully prancing across the room, the next he’s curled up close, melting into you like he’s always belonged there.       This little Chihuahua boy is full of curiosity and charm. He’s learning all the important puppy things—crate training, a bathroom routine, and even sneaking in some cozy nights sleeping right by your side. Like any baby, he’s still figuring it all out, but his sweet nature makes every step of the journey a joy.   Flash’s story started in a cardboard box outside a hardware store in a small Tennessee town.  A elderly man was handing out puppies lije Halloween candy.  Three were left.  Thanks to a kind rescue couple, 3 puppies went home with them and all 3 are in loving foster homes and looking for the perfect future family. Flash is now safe, adored by his foster family but seeking a forever family who will treasure him.   Flash is expected to stay under 15 pounds and will likely grow into those signature Chihuahua “radar ears” to match his big personality.  He may be small, but his love is anything but.   Flash will be ready to travel from Nashville on April 10th.
