All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $700   Twix is a 1 year old purebred Chocolate Labrador Retriever who was rescued from the shelter. This gorgeous chocolate brown dude weighs 70 pounds and is just as perfect as can be! Twix was surrendered to the shelter because he “got too big” (even though he is a normal sized lab)! We sprung him out of his kennel and promised him a sugary sweet forever family ahead!  Now, like any young Lab, Twix is active and energetic. He needs a home that is prepared for his energy. Labs are puppies in adult bodies at least until they are 3 but let's get real, it's more like 4-5 years old. Now, he's a bundle of fun for sure. He just needs activities. Are you up for playdates? Dog beach? Dog parks? Running buddy? Teaching him to fetch and throwing that ball until he's exhausted. Do you know working with a dog on basic obedience 10-15 minutes a day is equivalent to an hour of exercise? Exercising their brain, exhausts their body!   Below is a note from Twix’s foster.  “Twix is a goofy, friendly, gorgeous, and all around awesome lab! He is the best of the breed for those who love them. Looking for a hiking or running buddy? Twix is waiting with his leash at the door! Looking for a cuddle buddy/weighted blanket after a day of adventures? Twix is waiting on the couch for you to bring the snacks! Twix is super smart and has already learned a few tricks. What a good boy! He is very food motivated and has shown an eagerness to learn alongside his foster brothers. Twix will be your best and most loyal friend if you adopt him, and with a face as cute as his, how could you resist?  Twix wakes up around 7 AM and goes outside to potty. He sniffs around for a bit as he checks out his turf before coming inside for breakfast. After his morning meal, he takes a short nap before his morning walk. After his walk, he naps and spends time playing with his foster brothers. He spends his afternoon snoozing the day away, occasionally getting up to play with his mountain of toys. He gets dinner at 5 PM and then gets another long walk. He heads to bed at 10 PM and gets ready for another day of adventure ahead!  Twix loves his walks and adores the outdoors. Like a typical lab, he has a lot of energy to burn, so an active family would be a perfect fit for him. Twix would do well in an active home to ensure he goes to bed a tired and happy dog. He would love to join a home where he can integrate into family activities. Twix is being fostered with a large breed younger dog as well as small puppies. He plays well with them all. This dude can’t wait to make his forever home the luckiest home in the world once they adopt him.”   Twix is an option for a home that has dog experience and a large breed dog experience is a bonus. Interested homes must demonstrate a plan and commitment for continued training to ensure Twix continues maturing into the awesome boy he has shown himself to be. Kids in the home should be over the age of 8.April 27, 2024, 5:34 pm

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $800   Coppola is a 1 year old Miniature Goldendoodle who’s looking for his next star: you! This film buff was surrendered to the shelter for reasons unknown, but what we do know is his puppy dog eyes are impossible to resist. He’s hoping his forever home has toys, warm blankets, and storage space for his many awards! This handsome boy has a non-shedding coat which will require regular grooming. He is an option for those with allergies or just want less hair around the house. Coppola is ready to say lights, camera, action with you!    Coppola is a burst of sunshine and energy who is all the best of the doodle experience! He loves to be with his people and follow them around waiting to shower them with affection. He loves romping around with his dog friends almost as much as he loves finding a plushie to chew on. The outdoors were made for Coppola and he delights in sniffing out all the good smells the world has to offer him. Coppola has tons of puppy energy but is also very smart. He is food motivated and responds eagerly to praise. This smart boy can’t wait to show off all his smarts for his lucky forever people. Coppola is just so excited to show the world all the love in his heart, in fact it is always just bursting out of him. With a permanent smile on his face and wag in his tail, we just know he will EGOT his way into your heart.  Coppola wakes up around 7 AM and immediately goes outside for a potty break. He loves to get some play in with his foster sibling before he gets breakfast around 8 AM. He then goes out for a 20-30 minute morning walk and loves sniffing his way through the neighborhood. The rest of Coppola’s day is spent playing with the resident dog, playing with his toys, romping around the yard, and getting a few naps in. In the evening, Coppola gets his dinner at 5 PM and then gets a long evening walk. Post walk, Coppola likes to lounge around either on the couch or on a dog bed in the living room. After one last potty break at 10 PM, Coppola heads to his crate for bed.  Coppola adores his resident dog pal and would do very well in a home with another dog. He would also be just fine as your one and only. Coppola will require more training, especially on his leash work and sharing skills, but since he is still young we think training classes will be a blast with him. Don’t delay in bringing this award-winning pup into your home and adopt Coppola today!    Coppola is an option for those who have owned a dog in the last 5 years. Interested homes should be prepared to discuss their plan for grooming. Kids in the home should be over the age of 8.April 27, 2024, 5:34 pm
