Prancer COH is an 8 month old neutered male Flat Coated Retriever Mix who came to us as a stray from the City of Hawthorne. This handsome boy enjoys going for walks and exploring the world around him, making him a great companion for an active family. Prancer is friendly and does well with kids, and he’s ready to find a loving home where he can continue to grow, learn, and be someone’s best friend. We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. Please visit our social media platforms for the specifics for each weekend as it changes from week to week. Surrendered by her owner, Kenai is still adjusting to the shelter environment and can be a little nervous at first. With patience and kindness, she begins to relax and show her sweet, trusting nature. She’s a soft-hearted young dog who just needs someone willing to go slow and let her build confidence at her own pace. Kenai walks nicely on leash, is very gentle, and already knows “sit.” She’s smart and eager to learn, making her a great candidate for continued training. She does very well in playgroup with other dogs and enjoys calm, positive social interactions. I rescued Chase off the streets of Hattiesburg MS during COVID, so around 2021, and at that time the vet thought he was approximately 9 months of age. After my husband passed 6/18/2025, I had to sell everything and move to CA to live with family. With my health issues, I am unable to exercise Chase as he should be. He is housebroken, loves to be with his people constantly, and just wants to please you. He can be introduced to other dogs, prefers to be the only dog in the home. My desire is to meet the person that would like to adopt Chase, let them build a bond while he stays with me, before releasing him to the new owners, this way he can build trust of the new person/persons, and he will be happy to go with them. He is very smart, and I did a lot of work to get him to where he trusts me in everything. One thing, he is a lab, but someone must have used water as a punishment, so he is very fearful of water. To clean him, I purchased a dog grooming vacuum and he loves being groomed.
