Story
Meet Mahomes! Mahomes is an incredible little flat-coated retriever pup. He was found as a stray in the high desert and we were alerted to him before he was taken to the shelter, and we're glad we got him! This boy is the sweetest, gentlest and friendliest pup around. While timid at first, he just rolls on to his back to greet new people. Mahomes would do amazingly in a home with lots of love and attention and an active partner to keep him happy!

Story
Hi my name is Chico and I am an apx 3 year old Flat Coated Retriever/Border Collie mix. Sadly, I found myself at the Baldwin Park Shelter win my homeless owner gave me and my friend Oreo (who had been adopted). I am good with other dogs and an all around happy guy. I love to play with my favorite plastic ball too! I will even walk you sometimes I forgot to mention that I absolutely love the water too! If you've ever wanted a water loving dog, I'm your guy!!! Little did my rescue know when they saved me and Oreo, is that I have congential corneal dermoids that require expensive surgery by an eye specialist. My rescue mom took me in to find out what is needed and she is/has been working on raising funds for my much needed $4500 eye surgery before these corneal dermoids do even more damage to my inner eyes. The eye specialist not only needs to remove the dermoids, he also needs to reconstruct the inner eye. I'm just so grateful that Delaney's Dog mission is to help dogs who need help most and that they didn't turn their back on me and let my young life end at that scary, deadly Baldwin Park kill shelter where I saw so many dogs leave their overcrowded and dirty kennels to never return.  I was next in line to lose my life until my rescue hero mom came for me.   I am currently seeking a foster to adopt home while rescue continues efforts to raise money to help my poor eyes. It has been a long and rough battle for them trying to raise funds but they have promised that they will not give up on me.   If you can foster me, or donate to my surgery, we would be so grateful. I really want to be in a home again. Could you help me?  ##1484630##

Story
This is Gracie, she is a 6 year old lab/Shepard mix and the most affectionate girl. She loves going for walks, car rides and belly rubs. She is 100% healthy and up to date on all shots, exams, heart worm, and flea/tick medication. She is house trained, has been in training with certified trainers, leash trained, and such a good girl! She is afraid of loud noises (like thunder and fireworks) and prefers to hide in a cozy nook during firework season. Gracie LOVES humans but she does not like strange dogs and would do best in a home without other pets.

Story
Haus is an awesome pup. He needed some work in the beginning but he has responded wonderfully. Haus is always ready for a walk. He likes longer walks, but he's happy with a quick trip around the block with his human. He's learned to always walk with slack on his leash. Haus takes pride in chasing squirrels, rabbits, etc. from the backyard but he doesn't react to critters on walks. Haus does great in public. He's a wonderful lunch companion. He will occasionally howl in the beginning because there are so many people who aren't paying attention to him but he settles in quickly. Then he completely mellows out. Maybe it's because he knows he'll get a special treat if he behaves. Haus still has some puppy spirit in him. He loves his toys. Sometimes he will play with multiple toys at the same time. He always lets you know when he's ready for some fetch or tug. Part of his version of those games is making you chase him to get the toy back. Haus loves to cuddle. He loves to make new friends. He does well when we have visitors and he's good with children. He listens and obeys very well. Haus does need a yard and someone who will walk him a few times a day. He's much more independent when the sun is out but it isn't too warm. He's pretty happy laying on his hammock in the backyard on a nice day. Haus is good being near dogs, but doesn't do well WITH dogs. His interactions are fine when he's feeling mellow and so is the other dog. He just doesn't know how to play with other dogs. He doesn't realize how powerful he is, so his "play" is pretty overwhelming and doesn't go well as a result. Haus is a big 85 lb baby, and an amazing companion at home. He's independent, quiet, and loves to be around people, but isn't needy or distracting. He's also deceivingly intelligent; he learns new tricks very quickly, and will do anything for a treat! His favorite place to sleep is on your bed, if you let him-- but he's also a mattress hog and likes to take up half the space. ;) Haus is very intuitive and takes a bit of caution when meeting new people, but once he knows you, he's wonderfully protective and caring. He's a big couch snuggler and loves attention. He's quite literally perfectly behaved at home. Haus does struggle with leash reactivity on walks (with dogs especially), and he's wary of strangers and needs to be muzzled when out on leash. He loves going outside and exploring, so if you're an active, strong-bodied person who's willing to love him with his reactivity struggles, he'll be a perfect buddy! Haus is a very special gentleman who will consistently brighten your day with his infectious smile. He carries himself with the maturity and mellowness that come with age but still possesses a youthful joy for life. He is intelligent, sweet, playful, loving and obedient. Haus is happiest when getting plenty of exercise and is always ready to go on a long walk. He responds well to someone who is confident and calm. He will walk right at your side once that bond has been established. Haus is somewhat independent but he loves to be close to his people - and not just for the belly rubs. Haus should be the only dog but he fills his home with love.
