Story
MEET ROOSTER! Rooster is a 3-year-old flat-coat retriever mix in need of a foster or forever home. He was rescued from a crowded California shelter in the nick of time, along with his brother Goose. Rooster gets along with some dogs, but is a bit of a resource guarder with food, so would either do best as an only dog or with a submissive female. He weighs about 56 lbs. Rooster is currently in Southern California but can be transported to Minnesota. Please email for an application.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Looking for a spunky +1 for your next party? Fiesta is your girl! Fiesta is a happy, playful, fun-loving pup who loves to play, go for walks, cuddle, and be with her humans. She would do best with an active family who will include her in their adventures. Fiesta has a zest for life and a love for exploring the world with her people. She’s working on her leash manners—she’ll pull at first but settles in as you go. She’s also practicing her basic commands like sit, down, off, and no. Fiesta may jump up when she’s excited or happy, but she’s actively working on breaking that habit. Fiesta is potty trained with regular potty-break reminders when she’s out of her kennel, and she always keeps her kennel clean. She can be a bit vocal when first kenneled but quiets down after letting you know she’s not thrilled that playtime is over. She’s got a touch of sass, too—she’ll “talk back” if she’s told no or doesn’t get her way. Fiesta would be a wonderful addition to any family. With patience, love, and consistency, she will truly shine. Fiesta is from a local impound. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi! My name is Peach, and I’m starting to settle in after spending a week with my foster family. I’m still a bit nervous when I meet new people—especially men—so I need some time to feel comfortable and safe with new faces. I might bark or growl at first, but I haven’t shown any aggression. I don’t like being left alone, so a home where someone is around most of the time would be ideal for me. I’m not a fan of the crate and tend to panic a bit when closed in. I’ve also been known to do a little “counter surfing” and believe that finders are keepers, so for everyone’s sake, it’s best to keep tempting things out of reach! I go for three to four walks every day to practice my leash manners and build my confidence around new people. That’s helped a lot—and I haven’t had any potty issues in the house! I really enjoy the company of the resident dog here. He’s teaching me to trust people, sit for treats, walk nicely on a leash, and be part of a family. We play together, which helps burn off my bursts of puppy energy—even though I’m almost three years old! When he’s not in the mood to play, I can happily entertain myself with a toy. Tennis balls are the best! At night, my favorite place to sleep is near my humans—definitely in the same room, but ideally right next to you in bed. Once I feel safe and snuggled in, I’ll curl up close and snore softly beside you. Peach was found as a stray. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, I'm BettyLou Boots!   I'm a sweet, gentle girl who's looking for a patient and loving home to call my own. I might be a little shy at first, but once I get to know you, I'll be your shadow - I love being right next to my person. Meal time is my absolute favorite part of the day! I know breakfast as cereal and dinner as supper, and I never let anyone forget when it's time to eat. My other favorite treat is Greenies - I will do just about anything to get one! I've lived with cats before and did really well with them, so I wouldn't mind sharing my space with a calm feline friend. Because of my size, I'd do best in a home with children over 10. I'm a gentle soul but might accidently bump into the little ones when I get excited. I'm not the biggest fan of car rides, but I promise I make up for it with my love of snuggles and playtime. Squeaky toys are my jam, and I can often be found proudly carrying around a sock or two (they make the best treasures!). If you're looking for a loyal companion who will love you endlessly, keep you company through every "cereal" and "supper," and make you smile with my silly sock adventures - I'm your girl.    Love,  BettyLou Boots   Betty does need to be adopted into a home with another dog present.    BettyLou Boots is from an owner surrender.
