Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Harley is a mature gentleman (7yo) that is said to be a Labrador retriever mix. He is medium energy and loves his walks and couch time. No puppy shenanigans for this guy! He has extensive obedience training and house manners. He is fully crate trained and is quiet when relaxing in his kennel. He can be suspicious of new guests, but once he knows them he is happy to get pets and treats. Strangely, he has no interest in toys or fetch. Harley likes games like find the treats. He has a great recall, hikes off leash, and loves to join you in the yard to hang out. He does very well with other dogs and likes to go with the flow. He does not react to dogs barking on walks or squirrels running. He has been fine with cats, but if they run he will chase them. Harley is fully vetted, healthy, and ready for his next step living out his years in a loving home. He would be great in a home with respectful children 14+. He is E Collar trained and does well with that form of communication.   Harley is an owner surrender. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Janko is looking for a home of her own. For hands to kiss and laps to cuddle in. She is a tiny, petite lady that doesn’t shed. (jackpot!) Janko does enjoy the backyard-her favorite is searching for squirrels, birds and bunnies! She has a good nose, sniffer. Will find any crumb or nibble on floor or in pocket. Who needs a robotic vacuum cleaner when you have Janko on duty?!? Check out this link to see her passion for getting the treats out of her treat ball! She f ollows you like a shadow. All she wants is a human to kiss, cuddle, and love. Once she gets to know you, you are her people for life! At first though she can be nervous and needs a savvy human to continue to help her not be scared. She will need patience and training, especially at first. She's worth it in my opinion but will need some guidance and grace to be the best dog she can be! Here is a video showing how far she has come and being a really good listener! Janko is from a local impound. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Moses is a very affectionate dog who loves to cuddle with his human.  He loves going on walks and playing with other dogs.  He would love joining an active house as regular exercise makes him very happy!    He gets along great with his three canine foster siblings and has played well with doggy visitors. He is such a smart boy who is crate and housetrained.  He knows how to sit, lay down, and stay.  He is very treat and food motivated and therefore easy to teach.   Moses has a big boomy bark which makes me feel very safe as he alerts me if someone is near.  He settles down within 30 seconds as soon as he confirms the person we are meeting is safe!   Moses is a very smart boy with a lot of love to give!  He is excited to meet his forever family-is it you? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hello! Let me introduce myself. I’m BettyStarry. But you can call me Betty or Bitty.  I’m a lady on the go. I love to play, run, and wrestle. I would love to find a family of my own that loves to be active. I’m still pretty young so need to learn a few things about the world. I’m doing pretty great with my potty training and sleep at night in my kennel. Because I’m still a baby, I do need to go out in the middle of the night. But will wake you up to let you know. I like a clean kennel. I’m pretty quiet, but do bark for a little bit when I first go into my kennel.  From my foster:  Betty is very sweet but is very high energy. She loves her much bigger foster-dog brothers. She’s learning to take cues from them on when enough is enough. We are working on her manners when taking treats and other good girl behaviors. Betty likes to have her alone time and will go into another room where we frequently find her playing with toys by herself or napping on a dog bed. She would do well in a home by herself or with another dog that can match her energy level. She’s sleeping most of the night. From 8-2ish then back to sleep after a quick potty break for a few more hours. At only 4 months this is expected. Betty is a good girl that needs a little guidance but really loves people and dogs. She loves to explore and would make an excellent companion for someone that likes to go on walks and take her places.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. Story
Afton is a fuzzy cream/tan pup with amazing eyes who everyone calls a wee polar bear. Afton is a healthy well socialized pup who was born September 8. Her mommy was a street dog who was taken in by a Good Samaritan in a tiny reservation town. The plan was for mommy (pictured) to come to PUP before the puppies were born, but nature had another plan all together. Puppies came the day before we were supposed to pick her up. They were born under the porch during a torrential rain storm and came to PUP when they were a few weeks old. Because there were only two pups in the litter Afton and her sister, Itaska, were exceptionally well fed. With no competition, the breakfast buffet was open all day. Mommy (Angela) may be a Feist dog (a type of small terrier) and daddy is unknown but many people think puppies look lab like, but there does seem to be some shepherd influence too, so that is what we are going with. If you do DNA testing and come up with something all together different, we would not be surprised. Mommy weighs 28# and is sweet, athletic, friendly and as been the best mommy ever. We suspect daddy was bigger than mom. We suspect Afton and his sister will be in mid-size as an adult, but that is best guess. Since we have no idea about who daddy is, be prepared to love this pooch if she is larger or smaller than anticipated. Afton is still living with mommy Angela but she is no longer nursing. She is learning to walk on a leash and is doing well on learning about house breaking but she is not quite there yet. If you take her out on a regular basis, it all ends up outside. She walks reasonably well on a leash (for a puppy). The early months are when puppy learns the social skills needed to be a skilled dog in dealing with other dogs and a good citizen in the human world. Adopters should be committed to getting puppy into lots of new and different human social situations, hearing vacuums, trucks, and rattling garbage cans, meeting people who are clapping, laughing, with hats, tools, bikes and skate boards. AND puppy needs many opportunities to meet and greet dogs of all shapes, sizes and dispositions. Just sharing a home with another dog is not as much doggie socializing as puppy needs. If good canine social skills are not learned and maintained during these early months, it will be very difficult to ever master them. Puppy play dates, trips to the pet store, puppy socialization classes and later, obedience classes are particularly important. If all this doggie time and involvement seems like a good idea, you are up for a puppy! As always, a tired dog is a good dog. Afton has been vaccinated and wormed. She will need two more routine vaccination plus rabies at the owner’s expense. The $375 adoption fee (check or cash) includes the cost of pup’s required spay/neuter at 6 months of age provided it is done by one of the PUP vets. We do place puppies outside the metro area but a plan for the required spay/neuter must be in place. We do not ship. If you are at least 21 years old and everyone in your household is on board with adopting a puppy, CALL 651-645-4370 between 7:00 am and 9:30 pm and we will return your call within 24 hours. If you elect to contact us via e-mail it may take several weeks for us to get back to you. Renters must provide proof that you are allowed to have a puppy. If you currently have a companion dog or cat please be prepared to provide a vet reference prior to adoption if requested.

Story
Ginger is a sweet little gal! She is an approx. 1 1/2 year old female Shepard mix. She is friendly, energetic and spunky! Generally she does warm up to people after about half an hour or so with the help of some treats. Once she's comfortable, she is quite the playful gal. Ginger gives the BEST hugs and is ready to find the love of a furever family. She does well with other dogs, but does not have a lot of experience with small children. So far she's met 2 children, apx. 5 and 9, and has done really well with them both. She's prefer to be the only dog in your home, and she'd also prefer a home without a cat. She is super smart and ready to learn how to fit into your lifestyle! Ginger is a little nervous at first, but struggles giving cues when she's overwhelmed. Previous dog experience is preferred, as she has shown fear aggression when spooked, but hasn't given us cues previous. Please feel free to reach out to us through email at legends@legendsrescue.org *We only adopt and foster our animals within a 60 mile radius from New Brighton, MN* All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment. Story
Meet York! York is a good boy who is WAY too smart for his own good! Our sweet York is nervous in new situations and recently completed some training classes. He needs an experienced owner to work with him as he continues making progress with strangers! York has a great capacity to learn and has made tons of progress in the last few weeks. He loves to run around the back yard and play with toys. He gets along well with other dogs. He is very treat motivated and eager to learn. He is well potty-trained and has used a doggy door in the past. With people York knows, he is very social and like your typical puppy/young adult. He loves treats, toys and tricks! We envision York in a home that LOVES training- this boy loves to learn and has had so much fun at class. He can jump/climb a 6ft chain link fence (not privacy fence), so we think Agility, Tricks, or Scent work are all possible for him. York loves to play with toys but does need to be monitored with them because he likes to tear of little pieces off and tries to eat them. He knows "drop it" and "leave it" York is very interested in people food and we have been working on proper manners. He does jump up and counter surf. He has been trained to sit in his “spot” in the kitchen which has helped to deter this behavior. We are also working on wait and a release word for his meals. He is catching on quickly that jumping and being on the counter is not allowed. He sleeps on his bed on the floor but will happily sleep in your bed if you let him. York is an active treat motivated young adult who is looking for someone to explore and learn new tricks with. Please feel free to reach out to us through email at legends@legendsrescue.org *We only adopt and foster our animals within a 100 mile radius from New Brighton, MN* All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment. Snapshot of Trudy: Size? Full Size (35-50 lbs.) Activity Level? I play hard and snuggle hard! Noise Level? I bark when I play! Good with Dogs? I would LOVE a playmate, but would also do fine on my own Good with Cats? Untested but likely fine with dog-savvy cats Good with Kids? Great, but I do jump up! Good with Strangers? I love everyone! Potty Trained? I'm a Pro! Crate Trained? I do well in my crate! Shedding? I don't shed much. About Trudy: Hello! My name is Trudy and I am looking for my forever home! I am 6 months old and currently weigh around 30 pounds. I came to Twin Cities Pet Rescue from a reservation in South Dakota with my sister Rebecca. I just love toys, my humans, and dogs that live with me! I am very good at going to my crate and I'm learning to mind my manners when it's dinner time! I am almost a pro with potty training, I just need to know what door to stand by so my humans can see that I need to go out. I like slow intros to new dogs, once they understand my boundaries we do just fine. I love kids, but since I'm still learning not to jump up when I see people, older children would be better for me. I am quite the cuddler and would love to snuggle while you're working or watching TV! I also love to go on long walks. I would do well with another pet or as the star of the show. I would LOVE to find my forever home and am looking forward to meeting you! Snapshot of Bear Size? Medium! Activity Level? I play hard but snuggle harder! Noise Level? I have been known to bark when I'm in an apartment so I cannot live in a home with shared walls. I also bark at random things, but not when I'm in my crate. Good with Dogs? Yes! I love them all. Good with Cats? I do great with dog-savvy cats. Good with Kids? I would do best with kids who have been around dogs. Good with Strangers? Yes! Potty Trained? Yes! Crate Trained? Yes! I love my crate. Shedding? Minimal Hi, my name is Bear and I am looking for a loyal family who loves adventures as much as I do. Whether it be a run around the block, a long walk in the park, exploring a new trail or sitting on a dock with a bone relaxing. I am up for any adventure along the way. I absolutely love to play fetch and can turn any mundane day into an exciting one just by being my happy, vibrant, goofy, self. Balls and sticks are my favorite, I gladly bring them back but sometimes I enjoy making sure everyone is aware that I have a special toy and they don't. I'm not just all play though. After a day full of activities, I love to curl up next to you and watch a movie. I would love nothing more than to have a friend who will be my buddy for the rest of my life. I am hoping someone will continue to help me learn and continue to build my confidence. I am eager to become the best dog. I sometimes can be a bit unsure and have been told I have a big boy's bark. I'm the perfect balance of goofy, playful and engaging and a loving companionship. I am looking for someone who will have patience with me and help me learn to improve getting excited at times. I can be vocal, but I calm down quickly when meeting new friends up close! At the end of the day, I prefer to snuggle in bed with my blanket and stuffed bear, but I am a champ in my kennel. Remember, adopting a pet means making a commitment to care for them for their entire life. In return, you get an unconditional love that's second to none. Please reach out if you're interested in meeting our playful friend. Let's give him the loving home he deserves. I'm available for adoption at https://twincitiespetrescue.org/ Adoption Fee: $525 Bear requires another dog in the home and would do best in a home with a fenced yard.
