Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Abel. He is a wonderful dog who is completely house trained, knows many commands (including play dead!), and has great recall. He loves having a job, especially chasing geese off our grass area and sending them into our pond, then returning to us with a sense of accomplishment. Abel is a protector during deliveries and is sweet with his foster parents. He loves cuddling and is generous with his hugs, burying his head in our laps. He loves to please his humans. Abel plays with his rope like a fiend and loves chasing balls, frisbee, sticks, and toys. Abel does best with proper and slow introductions and people who are secure around dogs. He enjoys playing fetch with a small female lab and gets along well with smaller female dogs, given proper introductions. We are also working on his leash reactivity during walks. While Abel is generally friendly, he has shown some discomfort around children and in certain situations. He is not fond of being poked or picked at so would suggest kids be a no for Abel. With that being said, visits to the vet might be a challenge so patience, kindness and time will be needed to make Abel comfortable. Abel loves being petted, receiving belly rubs, and is fine with baths and brushing. His previous owner mentioned he is okay with having his nails clipped, although I haven't tried that myself. Abel is a great dog who thrives with understanding and patient care. Abel is from an owner surrender. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi there! I'm Bruno, I am a big playful boy who loves to run and play. I will play with just about anything that can be a toy, from tennis balls to (not dog friendly) toy dinos! I've been working on that part though. I originally came up from Texas and let me tell you, this MN thing is pretty nice, except does anyone else not like mosquitos here? They seem a little excessive. My foster mom tells me I'm the bestest boy, I get along with the other dogs, cats and even the two small, legged humans here, one is pretty little so I just like to lick her face and bonk her with my tail! My foster mom also says I'm the type of dog that needs to have a canine friend, she says it's cause I need to keep learning how to be a dog, but I have her tricked - I just want a friend all the time! I really don't like my kennel...like at all. But I usually do really good with making sure I'm on my best behavior when mom and dad leave so I can keep staying out! I don't use my voice a lot unless I'm stuck in a room or kennel by myself. I am a good boy on walks too. I am looking for  family that wants to add a 50 pound lap dog into their family! Could that be yours?  Bruno is from Texas. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Athena grew up in the beautiful White Earth reservation, where she enjoyed a loving and carefree lifestyle with her previous owner. She experienced the joy of sleeping in bed with her owner and running freely through the countryside. Athena has always known freedom and affection, even during her time as a new mother when she could come and go as she pleased. After the passing of her beloved owner shortly after her puppies were born, Athena and her little ones found temporary shelter at animal control up North. At just two weeks old, Athena and her 12 puppies were welcomed into our home, where she proved to be an exceptional and devoted mother, successfully weaning all her babies. We adore Athena and her gentle, calm nature.   Athena would thrive in a home with a 6-foot fence or a spacious yard where she can safely explore. She would benefit from training on a leash, transitioning from a long lead to a shorter one. While she's had a couple of potty accidents, she is incredibly sweet and calm, and with a little extra attention, she will undoubtedly flourish. Athena deserves all the love and attention you can give. An ideal home for Athena is one where she can receive the care and devotion she needs to truly thrive. Atheena is from a local reservation.
