This handsome boy is Goofy. He is a 3-year-old flat coated retriever mix and weighs 36 lb. We are helping him gain some weight and he will most likely be around 45 lb soon. Goofy is bouncy, sweet, and a darling! He walks calmly on a leash and has a hug for everyone! We think Goofy will be fine with children and he did well with other dogs before coming to DAWS. We don't know what Goofy thinks of cats but can cat-test him if needed. If you love fluffy dogs with soft fur and that retriever personality, Goofy may be the one for you! Goofy is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and healthy. His adoption fee is $440. If you would like to meet/adopt Goofy please complete our online application at https://daws.org/daws-online-adoption-application/or stop by our shelter. We are open 10 AM to 4 PM seven days a week. Meet Blue – A Sweet Boy Ready for His Forever Family! Blue is a 2-year-old pup with an enormous heart! He came to us as a 7-month-old puppy who was very under-socialized and understandably fearful due to his past experiences. Despite what he has been through, Blue is incredibly affectionate, and with the right family, he will become the loyal and loving companion you’ve been searching for. Blue has been diagnosed with canine paroxysmal dyskinesia, but this condition does not hold him back. His movement disorder is effectively managed with a low-stress environment and medication. Having spent the last two months in a foster home, Blue has made significant progress with housebreaking and crate training. He’s a playful goofball who enjoys galloping around the yard, but he’s also a sweetheart who loves to snuggle up and watch TV with you. Blue can be nervous around new people, so he needs an experienced owner who is patient and has the time and resources to help him continue to develop. He enjoys playing with other dogs and is currently being fostered alongside his sister, Nala, who is also available for adoption. What Blue Needs: • A fenced in yard • A patient family ready to help him overcome his fears and become the confident dog we know he can be • Consistent training and positive reinforcement to support his growth • A calm, understanding environment where he feels safe and loved.
