Story
WOOF! I'M ROCCO! I'm a 2-year-old Border Collie-Flat-Coat mix in need of a foster or forever home! I was recently rescued from a crowded California shelter, where I was impounded as a stray. I then was adopted, but returned less than 24 hours later as someone in the house had allergies. Fortunately I was rescued and now am ready for a foster or forever home! I have done great with other dogs and am a happy, playful boy. I love to play with other dogs and hang out with humans. I weigh 59 lbs. Could you foster or adopt me? I'm currently in California but can be transported to Oregon. Please email for an application.

Hey everyone! Tiffany's the name and finding my forever family is my game! If you're new around here, take a look at everything my friends here have to say about me.I'm an active gal, and I'd love to have a family that wants to get up and go - if you're looking for a copilot for your adventures, I just may be the dog for you! I'm even doing great on the running team here at OH. I am pretty high energy, I can become easily frustrated if my physical and mental exercise needs are not met. I will need positive outlets and a calm environment to help me flourish.Toys are the best, and I love to play with them to help get my energy out! I like to carry stuffies with me on walks, and to romp with them in the yard. And if you are looking for a dog that makes a splash wherever she goes, I'm your gal! I love the water!Playtime sounds great, but I love a good snuggle sesh too! I've been known to lean in for pets and roll over for belly rubs from my favorite people.I have fun meeting dogs here at the shelter, but I can be so excited to meet them I have a hard time containing myself. I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted. Even better? I'm part of the Diamond in the Ruff program, which you can learn more about here. Basically, we'll get to spend plenty of time together before we officially seal the deal. I hope to see you soon! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 62 Age: 1yrs 1mths 3wks

Story
Hi, I'm Lake! Some dogs rush in like waves, I prefer to settle in like calm water that just feels right. I’m an 8.5 year old Labrador Retriever mix, and I’ve reached that very important stage of life where I enjoy two things equally, going on adventures and immediately following them up with a very serious nap. Balance is everything. I’m a very sweet guy who loves people. Affection is one of my favorite things, and I’m happiest when I’m near my humans, just hanging out and soaking up the good moments in life. I’ve learned that the best days are the simple ones, the walks, the company, and the quiet time together after. Don’t let my age fool you though. I still enjoy getting out and exploring in my own steady, thoughtful way. When it comes to other dogs, I can be a bit selective with my friendships. I know what I like and prefer calm, respectful interactions. But, at this point in my life, I would really love to be the only pet in the home so I can fully enjoy my space, my people, and my well-earned peace. I would do best in a home without cats and as far as kid, I’d do best with those 7 and older who understand that I appreciate a gentle approach and sometimes just need a little space to relax. I’m very sweet, I just like things calm and predictable as I enjoy my golden years in style. I’m a loyal, loving companion who is looking for a home where I can settle in, be close to my people, and enjoy life at a peaceful pace. Think of me as your personal reminder that the best lakes are the ones you can sit beside and just breathe for a while! Apply to meet Lake today!

Story
Meet Rocco 🐾 Rocco is a 3-year-old, 70lb. Chocolate Lab/Terrier/Doodle/Mystery Creature mix. At least that’s what he claims on his dating profile. With eyebrows better than George Clooney’s and a personality almost as good as our founder, Lee Asher (who may or may not have written this bio), Rocco is the complete package. And trust us—he knows it. Rocco was surrendered due to having “too much energy” and pulling on leash walks. After spending time at The Asher House surrounded by a pack of dogs who treat zoomies like an Olympic sport, we’d like to respectfully report that Rocco appears to be pretty normal. In fact, he’s been an absolute delight. Rocco gets along beautifully with dogs, has lived with cats, has experience with kids, loves people, and absolutely loves the water. Since arriving at the sanctuary, he has shown us just how wonderful of a companion he is. He’s affectionate, loyal, smart, fun-loving, and always happy to be part of the action. While Rocco would do best in an active home that can continue his training and provide plenty of exercise, what he wants most is a family to love. He has all the qualities that make a truly great dog: a kind heart, a playful spirit, and a deep desire to be with his people. We recommend a household with kids who are 7 years or older. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who will join you on adventures, make you laugh, and love you unconditionally, Rocco may be the perfect match. Rocco's adoption fee is $295 and he's neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Apply today to meet this handsome boy.
