Old Yeller, is that a new trend? Old stuff made NEW?? Cause I am NOT old, although I am Yeller, a really pretty YELLER COLOR!!! :) I am a Yeller Chesapeake bay retriever/ YELLER lab mix, it is important for my new family to know about the Chesapeake bay breed. We can be very stubborn, smart and independent and I really like to be in charge, so my new family needs to be strong leaders too. I am a handsome bloke, with swirls of yellow and white all through my coat. I am very smart and very sweet. I can from a high kill shelter with no hope- Now I EXUDE hope!! And LOVE!!! I WAS heartworm positive but have already finished the treatment and am NEGATIVE and just stay on prevention for the rest of my life. I am good with other dogs, but really would be best in an only dog home, cause I want all the attention :) I LOVE MY people and I tend to take "control" of my home so have to have a couple of things... 1) STRONG leadership owner, 2) I have to have an owner who will be wiling to not let me meet everyone who visits.. I want to protect my home a little too much... and 3) I have to stay in the San Antonio/TX area so my rescue friends can keep close tabs on me and how i am doing :) I have been running and playing since I am safe, but really am a couch potato. Bobo needs a home, please help Bobo, his owner has given him a time limit and he needs a soft loving home for the rest of his years…..here is his info 💙 I’m Bobo. I'm a neutered male, Up to Date on shots and approx. 9yrs old. I came to Hopes Haven after my dad died and the CA. shelter was unable to keep me due to injuring myself trying to get out of the kennel...again and again. I am an attention hound and love getting affection. I will choose the couch over my comfy dog bed, am treat motivated and absolutely love to go on walks. Unless there's a good reason to be in the yard, I prefer to be inside with my human. I love to play with my toys if you play with me. I have spent a lot of time with other dogs, but I'm getting cranky in my years and a leashed introductory period is advised. Small animals, such as cats, are a NO..I have a large prey drive. I have separation anxiety and don't like to be alone. I don't like fireworks, thunder or heavy rain Please don't put me in a crate, it gives me nightmares. If someone knocks on the door or rings the doorbell I will bark loudly, but will greet the guest with my tail wagging. I howl when I'm happy or excited, like when I'm getting ready to go on a walk! A tall, strong fence is advised. Currently I have an 8ft Vinyl fence and I've stayed in my yard. I'm not confident enough to stay alone without causing havoc. I'm looking for someone who is dog savvy, will have time and patience to teach me it's OK to stay home alone and want a loyal, affectionate friend till the end of my days. Baxter is a total doll. He and his sibling were dumped at our rescue...they are social and so sweet. Baxter is all puppy but he is ready to have you teach him how to be the best boy he can be. He is crate, and potty trained. His life took a little turn at Christmas time when he was stepped on by a cow (yes his fosters have cows :), he had a tail and pelvic injury that required his tail to be amputated and he had to recover. WELL he HAS recovered :) He is ready for his furever home and boy will you LOVE this boy!! While he was recovering from his injuries he became the bestest pup you could imagine! Now he is looking for that forever home that will just love him for who he is!! ADOPT DON'T SHOP!!! SO MANY PUPS LIKE BAXTER's LIVES DEPEND ON IT!!!
