Story
Hi there. My name is DASH (Boris) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Flat Coated Retriever mixAge: 2 years oldGender: MaleWeight: 28 kgHeight: 47 cmHighlights: gentle, outgoing, friendly, social, watchful Despite my hardships growing up, I possess a gentle spirit and a pair of soulful eyes that speak of resilience.I had a rough start. Born on the streets of Turkey, I had to learn to survive. My days were filled with scavenging for food, avoiding larger dogs, and seeking shelter in hidden corners. I used to live on a university campus and was a community dog. However, it did not take long before university management started to collect all dogs and put them in a municipal shelter, which is simply a death sentence for a dog here. My community of volunteers didn’t let this happen and placed me into a boarding facility.Known for my friendly and outgoing nature, I form strong bonds with my peeps. I am often eager to please. With my glossy coat and playful demeanour, I will become a beloved member of your family, capturing the hearts of everyone in your home. This social butterfly thrives on human interaction and I am always eager to make new friends. My warm, expressive eyes reflect my affectionate nature, and my tail wags enthusiastically at the sight of anyone willing to give me attention. I am highly food-motivated. This can be an advantage in training. I can be influenced by other dogs’ temperaments, so I would be a good companion to a calm dog with a proper introduction. https://youtu.be/MEMyoAgcpt0.Despite my friendly nature, I harbour a peculiar aversion to men wearing hats. I know, kinda strange, hunh? It's a mystery to everyone, as I react with a mixture of curiosity and caution whenever I encounter someone sporting a hat. In addition, in addition, I may exhibit a sense of loyalty that makes me watchful over my loved ones. You will find me playful and entertaining. I love to play, run, and engage in various activities. Regular exercise is essential to keep me happy. I do know how to walk on leash: https://youtu.be/nFyYiib-eC4. Car rides are ever so fun:  https://youtu.be/DGT3vJ-thJENo idea how I am around kids and cats, I've never interacted with them. If you plan to adopt a dog for the first time or you are not an experienced dog owner, you should consider working with a trainer, as this bud has stayed in a boarding house for a long time and forgotten the city life manners. But here I am with a buddy:  http://https:\\youtu.be/DZ--QRmwFa0.Waiting for you to click that adopt button that gets me winging your way for loves and licks. Pverview vid: https://youtu.be/eWE2Pv0yo40. More vids processing and on the way. Energy Level: ModerateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknownKids: unknown Prey drive: None observed. My adopter needs to be willing to get training for me should these behaviors arise. Fears: None observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training: some leash workLeash skills: some. Please be prepared to continue training.House skills: no. Please help me learn. Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. [TURKEY] *Dogs receive 4D SNAP tests - which include: Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis. ##1913656##

Story
Greetings fine peeps. My name is BASIL (Pepper) and here's some info about me:Breed: Flat Coated RetrieverAge: 4 yearsGender: FemaleWeight: 29-1/2 kgHeight:  61 cm Loyalty and Intelligence are my hallmark traits, as you will see in a moment reading my story.Under my rescuer's care, I was then adopted by a family. Sadly, my adopted family faced many legal problems with their neighbors for owning a dog inside their apartment, ss is typical here in Lebanon. In the end, they were faced with an ultimatum; change homes or return me back to the facility. So, I was returned and have been with them now since February 2022.An interesting story about me (here's the amazing part I mentioned) is that I saved the family’s youngest son from being run over by a car! I was out on a walk with my adopted family when a car drifted by and almost hit the youngest member of my family. Luckily, I recognized the threat in time and was quick on my paws. I caught the boy by his shirt’s collar and dragged him aside, making me the family’s hero! To me, I was just doing the job a dog should be doing.I'm a clever girl, who will happily show you my obedient side. Being an affectionate pupper, you'll find me by your side ready for love, giving and getting.Since I am still a playful dog: https://youtu.be/7HKTEpiS_20, who gets along great with other dogs and who LOVES to swim, I sure hope we'll be able to include some trips to the river, lakes and/or beaches. A kiddie pool would be fun too. We can have such great adventures together... side by side, becoming bffs.
