As a puppy, Izzy was given as a Christmas gift to two young children by a man who would later become violent. This man used Izzy as a tool of fear and control, threatening to hurt her in front of the children to silence them, and even assaulting their mother when she tried to protect her sweet pup. Thankfully, the mother bravely escaped and got her family to safety, with their abuser behind bars. Out of deep love for Izzy, she made the heartbreaking decision to rehome her so Izzy could have a chance at the peaceful, loving life she deserves. Izzy is now ready for the next chapter of her new life. Izzy has been in foster care in Houston, Texas for several months and is quite a remarkable pup. She is gentle, sweet, kind and has learned to trust and love humans. In her foster home, Izzy has flourished into the gentle, affectionate girl she was always meant to be. She is fully potty trained, house trained, and has excellent indoor manners. Izzy is fantastic with dogs, respectful with cats, and very sweet with children. She shows no lingering signs of trauma—only gratitude, loyalty, and a big heart full of love. , Izzy can be guarded around unfamiliar males at first, but is won over easily with a soft approach, treats and praise.
