Story
****Millie is very nervous in the shelter and will benefit greatly from finding her new home quickly. She has been added to our Lonely Hearts Club and her adoption fee has been waived**** Millie is a gentle black beauty with a tender heart and hopeful eyes. Just over 3 years old, she spent more than half of her life waiting in a shelter in Arkansas, and our transfer team knew right away she deserved a chance to finally feel at home. Millie can be a little nervous at first, taking her time to feel safe in new places and with new people. Loud noises, sudden movements, and very young children can make her uneasy. But once she knows you’re kind, her sweetness truly shines. Soft pets, calm voices, and patient love help Millie blossom into a loyal companion who just wants to be close. She’s the kind of dog who will grow braver every day with the right person by her side. This 40-ish pound Lab mix, possibly with a little spitz mixed in, is active, smart, and eager to please. She loves walks, running, and especially playing fetch. It’s her absolute favorite. Millie is fully house-trained, knows how to use a doggie door, and always chooses to do her business outside. She walks nicely on leash and enjoys car rides, making her a great adventure buddy. Millie does well with other dogs and enjoys having canine playmates. She does best in a calm home with older children, ideally age 12 and up, who can respect her boundaries and give her the time she needs to settle in. She’s intelligent, quick to learn, and thrives with gentle guidance and mental stimulation. While she’s generally quiet, she will let you know if something unusual is going on, making her a loyal companion who keeps an eye on her people. Millie is ready for a cozy home, steady routines, and someone who believes in her. With love, patience, and reassurance, she’ll find her confidence and reward you with devotion, affection, and enough love for a lifetime. I am very afraid of men, so I cannot go home to a house with them. Medical History: Millie appears to be a healthy young dog. We recommend setting up an appointment with your own vet shortly after adoption so Millie can get to know them and form a positive relationship for all her future vet visits!Weight: 40lbsAdoption Fee: Millie`s adoption fee has been waived to help her find her new home
