Story
I'm a Hound dog looking for love! I am a 3.5 year old American Fox Hound. I have a pretty docile personality, my favorite activity is lounging in front of the fireplace on my bed. I do get spurts of silly energy with zommies. I enjoy running around playing chase and keep away. Like most hounds, I have a very loud bay when I see something but for the most part I don't really bark that much. I walk well on leash, but I do get distracted, like most dogs, and I am easily redirecetd and I am very treat motivated! General Socialization Notes: I am kennel trained and have taken basic obedience classes. I am a bit cautious around new humans, and I am not a fan of those humans I don't know getting into my personal space. However once I know and have accepted a person, I want to be friends. Treats help too! It took about a month to a month and a half for me to get used to my new home I'm in now. I do have some reactivity to guests coming into the home but I am willing to work on that! Does Copper like other animals? I prefer one on one introductions to other dogs. When put into a large group of dogs without any time to acclimate, I will become reactive and try to get out of the situation. I also prefer dogs my own size or smaller. I'm not too sure about cats. Does Copper like children? I have not been around children so I am not too sure how I'd feel. I do think older children, 13 years and older, would be best. Favorite Toys: I enjoy rope toys, toughy toys, and large rubber chew toys. Ideal Forever Home: My ideal situation would be a single family home with no small children. Children 13 years and older might be best. I'd love a large back yard (acreage would be the absolute best!) I'd do best with a regular consistent schedule where my environment is predictable. Another dog would be okay but being with just my humans would be fine too! That way, I can get all the love!

Story
*We adopted an English Fox Hound from TCRAS last March. We realize that we are not the right fit for him. We;ll keep him & love him until we can find better match. Rehoming has moved up in priorities due to health issues *He weighs apx 40 lbs. and is VERY strong. He is bored here, needs a yard designed for a dog, and hed love someone to walk, hike or run with every day. He had a 5-week training program. Unfortunately, we did not follow through with his lessons. He knows sit, down, place, heel (sometimes) and is learning how to "speak" and shake hands. *He's a very lovable, sweet, playful, nice dog, but he does have triggers (thunder, lightning, fireworks) and I can't always redirect him. Once he calms down, he's back to his sweet self. He sheds, but loves being brushed. *He'd do great in a quiet home, without small children. He likes other dogs as long as they are nice. Good sleeper and eater. Loves playing with toys! *He's such a good 95% of the time. Needs energetic people.

Story
Meet Lovely Gayle!  At about 11 months old, Gayle is as precious as a crystal and has a gentle spirit that shines brighter every day. This sweet girl may have started out timid, but once she settled into her foster home and discovered the comfort of canine companionship, her personality began to bloom. Gayle absolutely enjoys other dogs and especially loves romping around and playing with the puppy in her foster home. She shows no signs of resource guarding and is curious—but respectful—around cats, making her a wonderful candidate for a multi-pet household. With people, Gayle is still building confidence. She can be shy at first, but soft voices, patience, and gentle affection help her open up beautifully. Watching her trust grow is incredibly rewarding. Gayle sleeps in her kennel overnight and, while she may not volunteer to go in, she settles quietly and peacefully once she’s there. As a former stray, she’s already about 90% house-trained and continues making great progress every day. She’s also learning leash skills and does best with calm encouragement, especially since sudden noises can make her nervous and she may try to retreat. Because Gayle is sensitive and easily startled, she would thrive in a home with older children who can respect her gentle nature and help her continue building confidence at her own pace. If you’re looking for a sweet, soulful companion and have a little patience to give, Gayle will reward you with trust, quiet affection, and a heart full of love.
