Story
Meet Duke!Duke came to the shelter after being surrendered by his owner, who could no longer safely care for him due to mobility challenges. Duke is a happy, affectionate dog who is eager to be with people and soak up attention. Once out of his kennel, he enjoys exploring and then happily settles in for cuddles—he’ll even climb right into your lap when invited.Duke’s owner says he does well with dogs, cats, and kids, and he is food- and treat-motivated. He takes treats gently and knows basic cues like “come” and “stop.” He is reported to be nearly house trained and is easy to handle overall. On leash, he can pull when excited and would benefit from continued leash-manners training. He enjoys time in the yard, cruises around confidently, and is calm and cooperative when handled. Duke is affectionate, gentle, and clearly thrives on human connection.Duke is estimated to be around 4–5 years old and would love a home that can provide guidance, activity, and plenty of affection. If you’re looking for a loving, social companion who bonds quickly and wants to be close to his people, Duke may be the perfect match.

Story
I am a shy guy with perfectly stubby legs who has done well with other calm dogs in shelter playgroups. While I have had positive interactions with cats, I am too interested in our feathery friends and would do best in a home where I cannot access any free ranging chickens. Ask to see me today!
