🐾 Meet Izzy 🖤🐾
✨ Fast Facts:
🎂 Age: 3Y/11M/28D
🧬 Breed: American Foxhound
🚺 Gender: Female
📅 Intake Date: 05/01/2023
🏠 Rehoming Donation: $300
🐶 Personality
Adventurous, energetic, friendly, loyal, playful, and smart. Izzy is the shy-at-first type, but once she warms up, she'll hit you with the "I'd do crimes for treats" eyes and politely request snacks on repeat.
🏡 Perfect Home
Izzy would thrive in an adult-only home with a tall fence, since she has Olympic-level sniffing goals and can scale up to 4 feet. She needs an active, hound-savvy household and a patient human who understands that good things (and goofy hounds) take time. She tends to prefer women and is cautious with new people at first. But she warms up quickly.
🐕 Compatibility
Dogs: Good with dogs, especially other males with a proper introduction
Cats: Not good with cats
🧠 Behavior & Training Notes
Izzy is housetrained, crate trained, and walks well on leash. She has some basic training already, including "sit," and responds to "no" thanks to her work with our volunteers. She is independent, has low to moderate vocalization, and absolutely loves to ride in the car.
🩺 Health
Altered in care. Healthy and ready for her forever home.
📖 Izzy's Story
Izzy has been with us since May 2023, and she is ready to trade shelter life for sofa snuggles and backyard adventures. This beautiful hound mix came to Castoff from Animal Control as a young mama with seven newborn pups and a big ol' heart full of hope. Her babies have all found homes years ago - no one has stepped up for Izzy yet.
💌 Why You'll Love Izzy
Because she has a nose that never quits, a tail that never stops wagging, and a brain that loves a good challenge. Because she is playful, smart, and incredibly loyal. And because this rescued mom has earned her own happy ending, just waiting to be someone's very best girl.
