Meet Cleo! This lovely girl was surrendered to the shelter on 9/26 along with her bestie, Aisha, through no fault of their own. Their owner is in the military and being deployed. Cleo is house-trained, good with children, and dog friendly. Volunteers describe her as incredibly adorable and sweet! She's a smart cookie who knows several commands, including sit, down, and stay. If you have room in your heart and home for this sweet duo, please come meet Cleo & Aisha! Cleo is approximately 2 years old and weighs 45 lbs. She is UTD on vaccines and did test negative for heartworms. She will be spayed and microchipped upon adoption. Cleo is waiting patiently in kennel 806; her ID # is 22915. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. Meet Zara — Sweet, Silly and So Ready for a Family! Zara is a beautiful 2- to 3-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound who weighs approximately 50 pounds. She is gentle, affectionate and wonderfully endearing—with a delightfully goofy side that will keep her family smiling! Zara came into our rescue after her owner passed away. She was underweight and had clearly gone without the consistent care and nourishment she deserved. With nutritious food, kindness and a safe place to rest, Zara has blossomed into a healthy, happy girl who appreciates every meal, every loving touch and every cozy spot she can find. And sometimes, Zara makes her own cozy spot! One sunny day, she surprised everyone by climbing onto the table to soak up the warm sunshine. It was a first—and definitely a last—but she looked so comfortable and pleased with herself that we couldn’t help but laugh! That is Zara: sweet, occasionally silly and always entertaining. Zara loves people, although she may be a little shy when first meeting someone new. Give her a little time to feel comfortable, and her affectionate, loyal personality quickly shines through. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and even cats, making her a great addition to a home with other pets. She is generally calm and easygoing and loves lounging on the couch, curling up in a cozy chair or simply being close to her people. Zara has already overcome so much. Now she needs a family who will give her the security, companionship and unconditional love she deserves—a home where she will never again have to wonder when her next meal or loving hug will come. Professor Pringle is a handsome, lovable, goofy six‑year‑old hound mix who has quickly settled into the good life. He starts his day with a morning walk, supervises a home‑gym workout from the sidelines, and then curls up in the home office to “help” while his foster works. In the evenings, he’s ready for another stroll once the sun goes down, happily sniffing his way around the neighborhood and starting to say hi to new people on his walks. This gentle hound walks nicely on leash and enjoys taking his time to explore rather than drag you down the street, living up to his nose‑forward hound roots. He has slept wonderfully in his crate overnight without a peep and hasn’t woken his foster up once, which makes him an excellent roommate. At the shelter, he did well in play groups with other dogs, but he is not currently living with any. Professor Pringle is currently living with cats behind doggy gates while everyone gets to know each other. He seems pretty indifferent to them overall, and when one resident cat hissed at him, he was so surprised he literally toppled over—proof that his default move is “whoa!” not “uh‑oh.” He is not currently living with kids so we don’t have direct kid experience to share yet, but his calm, goofy personality suggests he’d do well in a home that continues his gentle, positive routine. If you’re looking for a sweet office buddy, quiet nighttime crate sleeper, and walking companion with a silly hound streak, Professor Pringle would love to audition for the role of your new best friend.
