Meet Sunny ☀️ Sunny is a 1-year-old neutered hound mix weighing about 50 pounds, and he truly lives up to his name. He’s a chill, easygoing guy who enjoys playtime but doesn’t get overly excited. He plays nicely with other dogs, shares toys and treats without issue, and has a naturally gentle spirit. (Cats, however, are a bit too tempting for him — he will chase.) Sunny was found chasing cars in a rural area outside of San Antonio. He had originally been adopted from the local shelter about a year ago, but when attempts were made to contact the registered owner, no one responded. Neighbors shared that his owner had moved away and left him behind. Thankfully, a kind woman had been feeding him, but she was no longer able to continue. She told us he was wonderful with her young children — and we absolutely believe it. Sunny is incredibly gentle and sweet. He walks nicely on a leash, does well in a crate, and has had no accidents in the house. He already knows how to sit and is always happy to hand out kisses. His vet check confirmed he’s a healthy boy and ready for his fresh start. He tends to want to chase cats so no cats. Sunny arrives in Minnesota on Saturday, 2/21, where he’ll be in a foster home with toddlers and other dogs. We’re excited to see him settle in and continue to shine. Sydney is an American Foxhound who was left behind by her owners who had owned her from a pup. She was born mid-May 2016 and has a lot of energy and plenty to say. She is a sweet lady, but doesn't care for every other dog, she's a bit picky about her friends. Sydney would really love a home with a big yard to run and smell everything. She might do ok with another dog and she has been fine with cats and kids. If Sydney seems like your kinda gal - come and meet her - she will make you smile! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only. This boy is a wonderful boy!! He is fun, friendly and ready to go. He gets along with other pups and should do well with kids. He loves to play and has the wonderful hound personality. He will need all the puppy training, and leash work, but should learn quite fast. He is ready for his new adventure with his forever family. Linus is in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

This is a wonderful gal!! She is very friendly and loves people. She likes to talk, play with other pups and be hugged by anyone! She would be a great adventure companion for any family. She will need all of the basic training, along with leash work, but should learn quite fast. She is learning her name and is ready to go! Located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders Transport Company.
