Story
Meet Bonnie, a beautiful, playful, and endlessly curious girl who loves being part of whatever’s happening around the house. She’s independent but loyal—always nearby, quietly entertaining herself with her favorite toys (and she loves her toys!).   Bonnie is smart, athletic, and full of personality. She knows tons of tricks and loves to learn new ones—especially when treats are involved! Inside her comfort zone, she’s confident and happy, but the outside world can still feel big and scary. With patient, positive guidance, she’ll continue to build her bravery one adventure at a time.   She crates quietly, plays nicely with other easy-going dogs, and has the funniest toy-carrying habits you’ve ever seen.   If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal, and intelligent companion with a heart of gold (and a toy in her mouth), Bonnie’s your girl.   ##2342487##

Story
This girl is a 6 month old American Foxhound mix pup with that perfect combo of sweetness, speed, and pure puppy joy. She loves every person she meets, adores other dogs, and lights up the second she has a playmate. She's smart, food motivated, and already knows several basics, she just gets distracted sometimes because there's SO much world to explore. She's a big hearted, high energy girl who thrives when she has room to run and a dog buddy to wrestle, chase, and nap beside. Penny is crate trained, housebroken, and learning her leash manners, but like any active youngster she still thinks jumping is just an enthusiastic greeting. Penny would be happiest with an active family, a securely fenced yard, and another dog who can keep up with her zoomies. She's fast, fun, affectionate, GORGEOUS, and ready for a home that can give her the adventure and connection she's made for.

Story
Lewey has spent the last year watching other dogs get chosen while he keeps waiting for the person who feels like home. Lewey is a friendly, talkative foxhound who loves people and has a big, happy personality. He's playful, energetic, and always ready for a walk or a backyard adventure. He does well meeting new people, is gentle with kids he's met, and mostly just wants someone to chat with and hang out beside. He gets along with other dogs as long as introductions are slow and calm, chases chickens, and pretty much ignores cats. Like many hounds, he's an athletic guy with lots of energy, so he'll thrive with a family who can give him room to run and a routine that keeps both his mind and legs busy. He's sensitive to loud noises during deer season and he's still learning some basic manners, but he's a sweet dog who genuinely wants to connect and do well. Lewey would love a home with space, structure, and people who enjoy an affectionate, lively companion. With a little training and plenty of love, he's the kind of dog who was born to be someone's best friend.

Story
Max is the kind of hound who lives for movement, connection, and the outdoors- he loves to cuddle, loves to roughhouse, loves his walks, and absolutely lives to run full-speed with those long foxhound legs stretched all the way out. He's food motivated, loves every snack offered, and thinks exercise, yard patrol, and snacks form the holy trinity of happiness. Snuggly, affectionate, great on walks, eager to be with his people, and happy snoozing in the bed- He's been a well loved house dog for five years and it shows! Everyone agrees he's a genuinely sweet, affectionate, playful dog. Max is social, especially with the *right* dogs. He prefers friendly boy dogs who play like he does - chasing, wrestling, and big goofy energy. He's less into female dogs, smaller dogs, and not interested in cats. Max *loves* to do classic hound yard work. He patrols the fence line, trees squirrels, alerts to mysterious backyard intruders like possums and groundhogs, and takes his self-appointed job as Yard Security Officer very seriously. Outdoor access is his love language. Max is being surrendered because he was recently startled awake and reacted out of character, resulting in a bite. It was understandably a very scary moment for the family, and one they can’t risk repeating. Max will do best in a home with lots of space and plenty of exercise to help him relax and reset. His ideal match is someone with an active, outdoorsy lifestyle who wants a companion for hikes, sniffing sessions, yard surveying, and long naps afterward. He’d love a fenced yard, plenty of outdoor access and maybe a goofy wrestling buddy who matches his play style. Someone who appreciates hound instincts and can give him quality one-on-one time would be perfect for him.

Story
Sweet Tea is a playful, loving girl with puppy energy! When she is let out of her crate in the morning she does parkour all over the house because she is so excited to start her doggy day! She needs a family who is willing to provide enough stimulation to burn off some energy for her. Daily walks and an active forever home that has a playful doggy friend for her would be perfect!   A home with older children may work best, just because she jumps and can be mouthy when excited. Her fosters are trying to work on this with her on this. With a heart as big as her personality, Sweet Tea loves to play, snuggle, and bring joy to everyone she meets. Whether it’s chasing toys, making new friends, or simply being your sidekick, Sweet Tea is sure to win you over.

Story
Otto is a 2 year old, 55-lb hound who was rescued emaciated from a highway and nursed back to health. He's now a striking, athletic boy with a ton of energy, a big heart, a goofy love of wrestling and running with other dogs, no interest in coexisting peacefully with cattle, and a habit of curling up for cuddles once he's had his exercise. Otto still shows some of the food guarding he developed while starving and hasn't had formal training yet, but he's smart, social, and eager to learn. He'll do best in a home with other playful dogs, lots of room to run, and patient humans who can help him build on the progress he’s already made. Otto's owner got him a vasectomy before surrendering him to Helpless Hounds, so while he is unable to reproduce, he is not neutered, so it's important to keep in mind that he may still display some typical intact-male behaviors. Think: enthusiastic sniff investigations, “I must check out that tree immediately” moments, a little extra interest in other dogs, and the occasional dramatic daydream about trotting off on an adventure. Not a bad boy- just a sharp, agile, lovable himbo with a heart of gold and mayyyyybe a flair for mischief.
