Meet Jerry, a Treeing Walker with a wagging tail, soft eyes, and a goofy streak. He greets everyone like a long-lost friend, follows his people from room to room, and will lean his whole hound head on you if you let him. Jerry is 3-5 years old and 45 pounds. He spent his summer at camp running and playing with kids and other dogs, and he's great with both. Cats get a polite ignore. Jerry is a dog with a lot of personality and even more opinions. His passions are stuffed animals, pup cups, and long sniff walks. The stuffies are his babies, so he needs plenty of them. He also barks at falling leaves, because leaves are suspicious and honestly they kind of deserve it. Jerry thinks chickens are too delicious to be friends with, so if you like having poultry as pets, Jerry is not the dog for you. Everything else about him is easy. He came from a rough start in rural Oklahoma- one he didn't deserve and doesn't need to be defined by. He's a Treeing Walker Coonhound/German Shepherd mix, about a year and a half old, and he's the last of his litter still waiting. His siblings Copper, Petey, Delilah, and Graham have all come through our program and found their happily ever afters, and everyone who has met the litter says they're great dogs. The fun part about Frank is that very single "first" he is ever going to have is still ahead of him. His first couch snuggle. His first walk just because. His first car ride with the windows down. His first bite of a dinner table scrap he definitely wasn't supposed to get. His first birthday with a cake that's just for him. Like his siblings, he may be a little nervous at first and take a bit to warm up, but once he does, he's a dog who wants to be loved on.
