Meet Ziggy. This 4-year-old, 57-pound pup is likely a Foxhound/Cattle Dog mix who came to us from another regional shelter after being found as a stray. Ziggy has a classic hound voice—he’ll let out a signature bay when he gets excited—but what really stands out is how much he loves people. He’s incredibly affectionate, a total wiggle-butt, and never misses a chance to give kisses or even a standing hug. He takes treats gently and, while not a big foodie, is still motivated enough to enjoy training time. Ziggy already knows “sit” and “paw,” and he’s 100% housebroken. He rides great in the car and has done really well in a foster home. He’s friendly with strangers and seems to enjoy canine company as well. He would likely do great with kids and can be cat tested if needed. He’s not a fan of the kennel and would much rather be out with his people. He can be a bit strong on leash and has been known to do some counter surfing, but he responds well to correction and will benefit from continued structure and training. She is incredibly smart, loving, and full of potential, but as a young working-breed type dog, Mia will thrive with an active family committed to training, structure, and meeting both her physical and mental exercise needs.Mia is house-trained, crate-trained, and walks nicely on a leash. She is very friendly with strangers and has done well with older children. Like many adolescent puppies, she can become overly excited during play and is still learning boundaries. At times, her playful nipping can become too rough, so she would do best in a home with older children who understand how to interact appropriately with a young, energetic dog.Mia is happiest and most manageable when she is the center of attention. She currently lives with another dog and tends to be dominant, which can make things challenging. Meet Nanna Nanna is a beautiful tri-colored Foxhound mix, approximately 1½ years old and 40 pounds, who is finally getting the chance to enjoy being a dog again.Nanna’s journey began when she and her nursing litter of eight puppies were abandoned at a high-kill shelter. For such a young mom, the shelter was no place to raise her babies. Thankfully, caring foster families stepped in and gave Nanna and her puppies the safety, love, and care they desperately needed. Now that her puppies have moved into their own foster homes, Nanna is thriving. After spending months focused on raising her babies, she’s finally getting the opportunity to relax, play, and enjoy life for herself. Her foster family says she has blossomed into a happy, gentle girl who loves being around people and other dogs.Nanna lives with several other dogs in her foster home and gets along wonderfully with all of them. She enjoys their company and has settled beautifully into family life. She also adores her foster family’s grandchildren and has shown herself to be a loving, patient companion around children. Meet BAM! Bam is now 2 years, 2 months old and 62 lbs. He was abandoned in McKenzie, TN at a rental property. HOW HORRID! He had much higher energy back in Feb 2023. But with an AMAZING, dedicated foster Mom...Bam has established a regular exercise routine and he has nicely smoothed out his energy now. Bam's 'thing' is his georgeous blue eyes. They look like jewels glistening at ya! I did the breed app check. And if shows mostly American Fox Hound with mix of Louisianna Catahoula Leopard. I'm going with it as his breed has had us puzzled. Bam is great with all the dogs in his foster home...of both genders, all ages, and various breeds. He is good on leash, rides well, crates & house trained.
