Story
Friendly, fun-loving, intelligent, young Bandito is wishing hard for a home of his own! He'd love to be your best hiking buddy as you set off for new adventures. And he'll be just as happy to get back home for a snack and a cozy nap. He loves toys, knows how to sit, walks nicely on leash, can catch treats in the air, and lights up when he knows he has pleased his person. He's also good in a crate! While he appreciates his shelter friends (and we love him to pieces), he is more than ready to say goodbye to his cramped shelter kennel and say hello to the love and fun of a real home. He previously has lived successfully with dogs; but will need a meet-and-greet to ensure he and your dog will make a great team.

Story
Lillian is in a foster home enjoying the companionship of her people and her animal friends including a male dog younger than her and a male cat. Home is where you make it and Lillian loves being part of the family. Life was not alway kind and stable for Lillian. A near miss on the roadway brought her to the safety of the shelter. She’s easy going and housetrained and can adjust to you, and your home’s energy. She’s happy to accompany you for excursions on the town too. While we bring this part of her rescue story to you, her adopter will have the honor of completing her rescue journey. Reach out to strike up a conversation with her foster provider. She’s advocated for by all her friends and fans including ClassicCaninesATX who are helping make connections home for displaced mature dogs that have so much love and companionship to give.

Story
It is with a heavy heart that I am looking to rehome my beautiful foxhound mix, June. It has been such a joy watching this sweet girl learn to be loved (and discover the wonders of indoors—television, couches, BLANKETS!), but my chronic illness is preventing me from giving her the life that I know she deserves. I think she would really love a household with active kids—she loves running around the yard and playing fetch (and is even learning how to swim!). She’s potty trained, crate trained, responsive on a leash, is slowly coming around to the idea of cuddling, and we train together every day. She is INCREDIBLY intelligent and picks up on new commands extremely quickly. I’m looking for someone to continue working with her so she can be her best self! The only requirement I have is that her new owner have a yard, as she is still learning that other dogs on our walks are ok, and that she is safe. For that reason, I don't think apartment living would suit her.

Story
Ruger is a Bassett Hound mix. We are unsure of what he is mixed with. Ruger enjoys napping, running around outside, playing with his toys and most of all, snuggling with someone. He is a great fit for a family without young children as he is sometimes a food guarder and does not always like when you get too close to his food/bones. With just a little special attention to these needs, he is a really great dog that can get along with anybody who will give him attention! Ruger has been to dog parks and done well with other dogs but can be selective at times as he does like to be the alpha dog. He is very well house trained and has never chewed furniture or had accidents in the house. He enjoys being inside most of the time but if the weather is nice, he loves running around exploring in the backyard for hours. Tricks he knows: sit, shake, lay down and stay. We will not charge an adoption fee and he will come with his toys, bedding, kennels, leashes and collars, food and food containers
