Meet Esme She just arrived to us from our rescue partner in Texas. Her mom as a frenchie and died giving birth. She is the last one of her group of siblings that needs a home. Basics: She is a spayed female guessed to be around 9 months old and she weighs close to 15lbs. She is currently in a foster home in Shawnee, KS Adoption Process: - Please fill out our adoption application: https://www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application - One of our team members will get back to you via phone. - Our dogs can be seen by appointment only. We do not have a facility at this time. Dogs are in foster homes or boarding - Adoption fee is $480. It helps to cover transport costs, spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, fecal, initial worming, and microchip. -We do not place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt. NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available. About Us: Day of the Dogs is a 501c3 nonprofit. Since 2015 we have been dedicated to helping shelters increase live release. We coordinate 2 - 4 transports per month from TX, OK and AR to NW Indiana/Chicagoland and the Kansas City area. We do direct adoptions ourselves out of Kansas City and NW Indiana areas. We also partner with other rescues and shelters in IN, IL, KS and MO that are willing to help southern pets in need. We rely on donations to help fund our ongoing transports. TEXAS ADOPTION ONLY Lissette the Fluffy Frenchie💖 I am fluffy. I smile ALL of the time. I make delightful snorty sounds. Even my sniffer action is fun to listen to. So why was I dumped & picked up as a stray? Their loss! I like dogs of all sizes, cats, but most of all…people. I gaze adoringly at my special people, keeping them in my sight regardless of whatever else I am doing: playing, chewing on a toy, eating, napping. Don’t even try to sneak off to the bathroom without me! I have some special needs that require a little extra care (ask my foster “mom” about them), but a lifetime of joy with me & my wonky walk are more than worth the effort. Francis is a gentle, squishy girl with a big heart and a resilient spirit. She’s been through more medically than most dogs ever should, and because of that, she’ll have some lifelong needs—but she faces it all with grace, humor, and an impressive dedication to being cozy. Francis has had major surgeries and still has a few ahead of her. Due to her past, she experiences some bladder control challenges and may have limited hearing after her remaining procedures. Her medical care will be fully covered by Chain of Hope during her foster period. What Francis does bring to the table is pure sweetness. She’s affectionate, goofy, and thrives on calm companionship. Her ideal home is a laid-back family who enjoys naps, soft beds, and treating her like the queen she truly is. She’ll happily play the role of your squishy little shadow—and yes, she absolutely resembles a perfectly buttered roll Francis is currently searching for a forever foster-to-adopt home where she can continue healing, resting, and being loved exactly as she is.
