Phil is looking for a very special understanding home! This 1 year old Frenchie was surrendered to a local shelter when his owners couldn't meet his needs. We have had extensive diagnostics done to get to the bottom of his chronic diarrhea issues and he does have fairly severe IBD which will require lifelong care to manage- medications and a strict prescription diet. He's improved but it's going to be a trial and error process under the care of vets because of the severity of is issue. We are waiting on a recheck and further results but he is suspected to have some chronic irritable bowel type issues, and already improved greatly on a special prescription diet and medications. We are hoping to find little Phil a local home where he can be monitored and follow up with our vet. Phil can be a little standoffish at first and undersocialized but a fun playful puppy once he bonds. He's at that adolescent stage where he can be a bit of a brat testing boundaries at times and needs some training and an adult household to continue to work with him. Meet Tofurkey, our awkward little holiday miracle. This ~2 year old bully (exotic microbully technically?:() was bred and born to suffer, but is a complete sweetheart and so happy for any attention. By the nature of his breeding, he can barely breath or walk- bad hips, deformed front legs, narrowed nostrils and an elongated soft palate, and gets winded and overheated easily. And as if that's not bad enough then he had his ears chopped off for cosmetic reasons. His owner was arrested and he ended up in a local animal control dripping blood from a prolapsed urethra (ouch! another common issue in these little gremlins) that needed emergency surgery plus a long overdue neuter to prevent any more of him from existing. He's getting surgery soon to make it easier to breathe, and will need a home that can stay on top of his medical needs longterm. He can run and walk awkwardly but does best on softer surfaces as he sometimes drags his back legs. Tofurkey is stressed in the shelter and would love to find a foster or adoptive home soon... please submit an application to open your home to him. He's 40lbs full grown but with a long low build. Caron is not bad with dogs and lives with many but because the ideal home is a home without other dogs so she can be fussed and fawned over 24/7. Ideally she would go with someone everywhere and be with a person who made her their only child. She is high strung yet loving and beautiful and fascinating to observe. She loves people and trips in the car and sleeping with her human. Her history is a drop off at the rescue by a son and mother who were unable to handle her medical which at the time was a prolapsed anus. We operated twice, the second time was the serious surgery that solved the issue for good. Other wise she has been very healthy. Approx 1.5 years old. I hope you are able to understand who she is named after, she rather resembles her. Her adoption fee is high (950.00) because 1) we are in no hurry to place her and 2) when we do decide the right home is out there, she can help support the seniors and special needs sanctuary dogs, many of whom she has bullied for months! LOL. She is highly athletic and jumps fences and climbs and if not too clingy might be great at agility courses. She listens well and has great recall, she might have separation anxiety if left alone so the ideal home is one where she is with someone and not left alone. WeI currently take her everywhere, which can be tricky due to the nature of the breed, Hot weather and exertion affect her due to her physiology. The humidity also has had an affect. She is accustomed to dry CA air but she is adapting and doing great now that fall has arrived. Feel free to call with questions and to request photos. An application and references will be required. Arlo is a pure bred French Bulldog who was surrendered due to allergies in the home. The family tried everything but nothing worked and was very sad to give him up but we promised to find him a good home. Arlo has been very well taken care of by the family. He is outgoing,friendly, enjoys playing and being petted. Arlo is housebroken and knows some basic commands. He does act like how a lot of French Bulldogs act, he can be stubborn, likes to grab onto things and then acts very cute. He can also have some resource guarding over what he thinks are high value items (chew bone, favorite toy, etc). He also does not like to have his face wiped or his rear end touched. Arlo was born on 3/3/23. He is about 21 pounds. A home with no young children and no other dogs would suit him best. We do not know what he thinks of cats. Please help Arlo find the loving home he deserves. We do NOT ship our animals. All adoptive families must travel to us to meet their adoptive dog/cat.
