Enzo is a 6 year old 1/2 pug and 1/2 Frenchie. He is a good tempered loyal dog. He does not like other dogs and needs to be an only dog. He is very athletic and loves playing with a soccer ball. He will follow you everywhere but is not needy. Does not paw for attention. Not a lap dog, he prefers his own space but loves sleeping on couch or in beds. Although usually sleeps gated in our kitchen. He does have some compulsive behaviors when it comes to balls, toys, etc. He will play to the point of exhaustion. We do not have little children but probably not a good fit. He is crate fed as there is food aggression with our other dog. He also loves car rides, weather permitting.

Meet Dove! This cutie is a 12 week old French bulldog/border collie mix that came to us from a commercial breeding facility in Lancaster county. She was given up because she was an "accident and not going to be able to be sold for a high enough rate for the puppy mill to even bother trying to sell her. To top it off, her and her siblings tested positive for Parvo virus upon arriving at our rescue. We are very thankful that we got Dove and her siblings treated when we did because just 12 hours more could have been the difference between life and death with this devastating virus. Be on the lookout for an upcoming educational post on this topic of parvo virus, and how a new drug is changing the game in terms of survival Dove is just as sweet as can be, and we are very excited to find her a forever home like her siblings. We think she is simply perfect... all the best parts of a French bulldog, but without any of the multitude of health issues that purebred French bulldogs typically have. She is estimated to be about 35 pounds full grown, based on size now (though this is just a guess), and have the signature border collie energy and intelligence! As with all dogs we save from puppy mills, they will need a family who is understanding and prepared to work through a period of transition with them as they learn to live in a house and around people. They will need time to trust their new family before working on training, such as house training. Is she a dog? Is she a gremlin? An Ewok? A cat? We dunno…we just know she’s Mrs. Beatrice Bigglesworth and she’s as fabulous as she is sassy. She’s a squat little thing, only 30lbs, but she’s very top heavy. We think she’s around 1.5 years old so she’s somewhere in between “a bull in a china shop” and “snuggle bug” energy…she pulls off both very well. When it’s time to party…gooorrrllll it’s on!!!! She’s got hops for days and will zoom around the yard like a tornado! But when it’s time to snuggle or watch tv she’s all about that snug life and will curl right up on you and sleep the night away. Miss B is mostly crate trained (just polishing it up in her foster home) and completely house trained. She walks well on a leash and can actually keep up pretty well with the big dogs despite her stature! She’s gotten along with all the dogs she’s met and she gets along fine with the kitties in her foster home too. She hasn’t had much exposure to kids but she would probably do best with older kids at this point because of her puppy energy and hops. She was found as a stray in the south so she’s still working on some house manners, like not putting things in her mouth, not jumping up on stuff, etc, but she’s already learned so much and will be a house dog in no time! Above all else, Miss B loves her toys…plushie toys, balls, kongs, bones…she’s not picky but she requires one at all times. If you’d like to add a sassy little gremlin to your life to keep you on your toes and keep you laughing Mrs. Beatrice Bigglesworth is your girl!

We found Ziggy on an adoption website like this one. He was 8 weeks old, we dealt with the owners of the parents/litter. He is now 16 months old. Ziggy is unfortunately just not the right fit for my young busy family. We live in an apartment and he needs more exercise and training than we are able to give. He needs some work and consistency as he is a puppy and likes to be vocal and gets excited and jumps. So I do recommend someone with experience handling that. He is housebroken, decent with kids (plays a little rough for small ones), crate trained, and good with other dogs once he calms down (high energy). I would recommend a home for Ziggy with a yard for running, older children, and just someone willing to put work into him and give him the life he deserves.
