Story
Age: 4? Weight: 40lbs Location: Allentown, PA Nicknames: "Munchie" Good with other dogs?: No, must be the only dog in the house. While Cocoa was good with other dogs while living at American Bulldog Rescue (ABR), once she became settled in our home and felt her "belonging" with us, she became aggressive and impulsive with our female American Bulldog, another ABR rescue, Java. Java soon exhibited the same impulsive and aggressive behavior. Cocoa will be the greatest pet you can have, and will be a loving member of your fanily, but needs to be the only pet in your home. Good with cats? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with a cat Good with children? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with kids under 10 Activity Preference: Low maintenance overall but needs quality outside time., other: Cocoa absolutely loves to walk but is not tolerant of heat and will let you know when she needs a break or is ready to walk back home. She is amazed by the outdoors and will sit quietly just watching the sky and listening to the sounds around her. IQ: Smart Cocoa Chanel's favorite things: While Cocoa has never met a treat she did not like, she loves vegetables and will eat any crunchy veggie you put in her bowl. Her favs are cucumbers, green beans, romaine lettuce hearts, broccoli and asparagus. She is occupied for quite a while when we leave her with a Kong toys filled with mushed bananas and then frozen. We always check on her via video camera when we are out for a short time and see her so dedicated to the Kong. She also loves peanut butter in a hollow bone! She also likes ice cubes. She likes to play outside but is not good at dropping a toy during fetch. She will also need a fenced in yard with no escape routes under or around as she will chase rabbits and squirrels. Cocoa Chanel is good at: meeting people, staying in a crate, behaving in the house, going for car rides, walking on a leash, playing, catching balls/frisbee, following commands, other: Cocoa is sometimes triggered by sounds she doesn't understand and will chew on items IF she does not have chew toys available. Ideal home: older children, quiet environment, someone at home most of the day, a fenced yard, other: She has so much love to give and is such a good girl just requires understanding and patience. She is most calm in the room with her people in her own space whether it's one of her beds or her "Cocoa Cabana" aka crate. Training Needs: socialization with dogs, other: Cocoa is smart and is very good on her leash with heal and sit. She has gotten better at coming when called in the fenced in yard, however if she is focused on a bird or squirrel she doesn't hear us. Health issues: Cocoa gets very healthy reports from her doctor but does have two issues requiring dedication. First, her ears must be cleaned regularly. Second, she has very sensitive skin underneath her paws making her prone to bacteria build up. Wiping her paws after she is outside, underneath and in between her toes, with an unscented baby wipe handles the issue for the most part but has infrequently required topical antibiotic ointment. Meet Cocoa Chanel Miss Cocoa Chanel's name was inspired by her diva personality and gorgeous cocoa colored coat. She is also quite the fashionista loving a sweater/hoodie to keep her warm inside our chilly home and coats outside during the cold months. She brings a huge smile to every single person who meets her or even is driving down the street and passes her trotting along. She is full of life and energy and love! She is a very low maintenance pup with her independent mannerisms. However, again, she must be your one and only dog. Once settled in her environment, Cocoa hardly ever barks. However, she does snore so if you are a light sleeper you will want a white noise machine. She prefers to sleep in her "Cocoa Cabana" outfitted with cushioned bed, chew toys and a blankie. Before bed she loves to be kissed and hugged as she settles into going to sleep. When she wakes up she is the same way. If you make time for a few minutes of petting and kisses you will be the one who is rewarded all day long! When we first brought her home she did have issues with going potty in the house but once she settled, she told us she had to go by going to the door and sometimes will pace. Cocoa is an absolute lady always sitting for her meals. She is so curious and will just spend time walking the yard and smelling the air. Cocoa will ask you for nothing but you will want to give her the world. She deserves so much love and know that you will be the luckiest family in the world if you are chosen to have her as a member of your family.   PLEASE READ: Adopters will not be considered without completing an application. Story
Meet Emmylou. Emmylou came to us from a breeder. She lived outside until she came to us. Emmylou is 3/4 French Bulldog and 1/4 Beagle weighing 27 lbs.  Emmylou LOVES people and attention. She wants to be wherever people are and will always be right by your feet. She is going on 2 years old, but still likes to chew things so lots of appropriate toys and bones are a must for her. Emmylou walks pretty well on a leash and has gone on some walks already. She is working on housebreaking and is crate trained. Emmylou gets along with dogs when she is out and about. She will do just fine as an only dog or will do best in a home with a more submissive dog as she does like to be the boss. Emmylou is now spayed, up to date with vaccines and microchipped. She did test negative for heartworm but positive for Lyme but is not symptomatic and is just going through a course of Doxycycline. Emmylou did also have her cherry eye repaired when she was spayed. She does like to jump up and we are working on that but she will probably knock down smaller children. We think she will do best in a home with children over 12 so she doesn't knock them over. Her adoption fee is $450.00. If you are interested in adopting Emmylou, please visit our website www.lharinc.org go to Adopt and complete the dog adoption application. Story
Meet Rose - read what her foster mom has to say about her: Rose did come to us from a breeding kennel. She weighs about 22 lbs and her date of birth is 6/10/2021.Rose is learning to walk on a leash but doesn’t like to go too far.  She is great around kids.  She is getting familiar with a crate and doesn’t complain when being put in.  She can be in a fence yard or outside of a fence on a leash. She doesn’t really bark and loves to snuggle. Rose follows anyone around who gives her attention and likes to be right by them in every room they go. She is working to learn to go to the bathroom outside and does when given time and familiar areas. Rose loves to explore new areas and is very curious about her new world. Rose will need to be an only dog in the home as she does have the Frenchie dominance or possibly will do well with a submissive male dog.  Definitely female dogs for Rose she is very clear she does not like them. A meet will be required. Rose is now spayed, up to date with vaccines and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $550. If you are interested in adopting Rose, please visit our website www.lharinc.org go to Adopt and complete the dog adoption application. Story
Meet Hadley – The Life of the Paw-ty Looking for Her Forever Family!   Hi, I’m Hadley, and I’m a happy-go-lucky little girl born on March 26th to a stunning Papillon mama and a charming French Bulldog dad—together, they created me: a one-of-a-kind “Frappillon”! With my mom’s silky fur, sweet spirit, and petite 11-pound frame, and my dad’s fun-loving energy, I’m the best of both worlds—and I’m expected to stay under 20 pounds when I’m all grown up. Let’s just say…I’m kind of a star. &#226&#156&#168 If I were a human, I’d be the cheerleader, valedictorian, and prom queen rolled into one bouncy, tail-wagging pup! I greet every new friend with curious eyes and my signature butt wiggle (I’ve been told it’s award-worthy). I recently attended puppy yoga, and wow—I was in my element. I loved every second of the attention, cuddles, and puppy poses. When I’m not charming the crowd or zipping around with zoomies (yes, sometimes I trip over my own paws), I’m an expert napper who loves a good snuggle session. I’m also great with other dogs—even the big grumpy retriever in my foster home doesn’t faze me. I bring good vibes wherever I go and can’t wait to share my joy and love with a forever family. If you're ready for a fun, affectionate, and fabulous little pup in your life, I’d love to meet you! Just reach out to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Let us know where you live—we can be adopted right here in Tennessee or catch the doggy transport to the Northeast to find our happily ever after. Could you be my person? I promise to bring giggles, snuggles, and unconditional love into your home!   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 4, 2025, 12:10 am

Story
Opal is both beautiful and sweet, but we have learned that the best home for her would be with a single woman with no other pets. Opal loves her human completely and she simply doesn’t want to share. She is extremely possessive. Not to the point where she bites but she growls and barks a lot and that does not make for a peaceful home life for anyone. Opal is fun and playful and affectionate with her person. She loves to go for walks and rides in the car and she’s good with other dogs as long as her person doesn’t want to love on them. Then she growls them away. Opal is spayed, UTD required vaccines and his heartworm negative. She is house trained, but might have an accident or two until she settles in. We just have to find that “right“ home for this precious girl. She would truly be someone’s very best friend. If you would like to be the center of this girls world, please contact OMLC 7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@gmail.com. If you are emailing from a Gmail or yahoo account, please use the Gmail address.
