Story
Hot and fresh… Porkchop - 4 years old, male French bulldog - Loving, quirky, playful - Happy to entertain himself with a bone - Will suckle a stuffy to put himself to sleep - Likes to be in the company of his people and will become your shadow, but not typically a snuggler - Smart cookie and eager to learn - Crate-trained and housebroken - Content to go to a home with or without other dogs, as people are his main focus - Requires daily medication and routine medicated baths to manage his Pemphigus, so any applicants should be prepared to continue this regimen to keep him feeling his best - Thrives with a routine and enjoys his daily walks - Cats: kitty-free homes only, please - His ideal household has no children under 12 years old as he can get overstimulated by the big energy of small humans - Looking for a loving household committed to ongoing socialization and training, as well as managing his medical needs to help him to live his very best life **Due to his ongoing dermatology needs, we are looking for a foster-to-adopt family at this time while we continue to work with our vets and specialists to determine the best plan for his care going forward. FTA families must live within reasonable commute to our primary vet in Elizabethtown, PA. Adoption will be finalized when we achieve stability with his skin. Story
Meet Raven! This beautiful, sweet, playful 4 year old French Bulldog is still looking for her forever home. Raven is as lovable as they come—she’s a gentle soul with a fun-loving spirit. Whether she's chasing after toys, playing with her favorite humans, or snuggling up for a cozy nap, Raven is sure to brighten all your days! Raven’s foster mom describes her as “absolute perfection” and says she has every good Frenchie quality and none of the bad. She’s a little ball of love wrapped in fur. If you’re ready for a loyal, affectionate, SWEET friend who will always bring a smile to your face, Raven is the girl for you! Raven is EASY. She loves life and everyone in it. Like most French bulldogs, Ravey does have some medical issues. While in foster care she was treated for what was likely had IVDD after waking up one morning with a stiff neck. Raven was treated with prednisone and responded IMMEDIATELY. She’s been in great health since, but her adopter must understand this breed is hardy yet fragile. Raven was also diagnosed with hip dysplasia and a low grade (1 – no biggie) luxating patella in her right knee. It is suggested she stay on a joint supplement for life. With all that said – Raven joyfully goes about her days playing with her foster siblings. She would do well in pretty much any home environment. Sweet Rave is UTD on vaccines, spayed, had nares surgery (bc frenchie), microchipped, and on preventatives. She is living in Levittown, PA with 2 bichons and a big pittie and she gets along beautifully with all. If Raven sounds like she’d be a good addition to your family and you promise to love and snuggle her for life, please apply only on our website today! *We suggest using a PC over a phone or tablet. **Please note: A separate meet and greet with potential adopters and all resident pets is required prior to final approval. Story
Meet Otis, the most adorable French bulldog and Miniature Pinscher mixed pup! Otis is 1 year and 8 months old. He is neutered, vaccinated, and ready for a forever home. His special superpower is his ability to always have his lips stuck on his teefs. Otis was surrendered to us because his humans did not have time for him. We were told that he consistently had accidents in the house and that he was alone most of the day. We could tell that he lacked obedience and did not know boundaries upon intake. His humans did love him, but they did not provide him with a routine or any mental and physical stimulation. He is now doing well with a consistent routine and learning to be a well-behaved pup. His foster mom reports that Otis has not had any accidents in the house since he came. He is a medium sized dog, but he thinks that he is a tiny pup and insists on always getting in your lap. Otis is the epitome of a Velcro dog! He is very affectionate and would love to be with you all the time. Personal boundaries do not exist in his vocab. His favorite thing in the whole world must be chest and belly rubs because he can never get enough of it. Otis will sometimes throw tantrums when he is denied attention but can easily be distracted when you throw a toy for him to chase after. Speaking of toys, Otis LOVES chewing on all the toys. Durable chew toys are a must for this boy. He can be very energetic when playing tug or zooming around the house and yard--and because of this, we think the best environment for Otis is a home without young children. And although he will happily cuddle and snooze on the couch, Otis needs daily walks so that he can exercise his body as well as his brain. Otis is used to doing whatever he wants and will try and push his boundaries to see what he can get away with. However, he is a quick learner with high value food rewards. We are making strides with crate training and leash walking. Otis needs a home with a human that he can trust and depend on. His perfect human will understand that he has been neglected and will continue to help him heal by providing him with lots of love, a consistent routine, and be persistent with his obedience training. Story
Phoebe is a 2-year-old, 24 lb French Bulldog. She is spayed, current on vaccines and heartworm prevention, house broken and crate trained. She is an active girl! Loves toys. Loves to chew! Needs supervision because she will chew up anything she can reach if not being watched. She can jump a baby gate or out of a 3-foot puppy pen. She loves her people! Loves laying on the couch to watch tv or laying on the bed if allowed. Very food motivated. Loves to play in water in a kiddie pool. Loves to play fetch. Rides great in the car! Loves going to Starbucks for pup cups and to get ice cream. She’s a GREAT dog. She’s just a lot of dog. She will jump up on people when excited and mouth at your hands (gently). Phoebe is good with other dogs 99% of the time but, she can be a resource guarder with other dogs (never people) over food, her crate and sometimes people. She’s never overly aggressive. It’s just a quick lashing out which she stops immediately when told to. She will do best in an experienced home preferably one with French Bulldog experience. She should only be considered for home with older children. Phoebe’s adoption donation is $1,000 and the transport fee is $165. Phobe is being fostered in Arkansas. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Meet Hot Chocolate, Cookie, Brownie, and Cupcake! *Brownie has a “cherry eye” that will be repaired during his neuter* These sweet little puppies were pulled as part of “Angel Retreat’s ACCT’s of love” program. They were at risk of euthanasia due to arriving at the other shelter suspected to be suffering from Parvo virus and extremely emaciated. Hot Chocolate, Cookie, Brownie, and Cupcake needed urgent medical care, and we were honored to provide them that. They have all tested negative for Parvo virus and have been getting lots of love and supportive care as they work towards a healthy weight. These puppies are all 8 week old mixed breeds who are full of happiness for their second chance at life! They are all young and happy puppies that will require families up to the task of providing them the ample physical and mental exercise and training that all puppies require. If you are interested in being considered for them please apply on our website at www.angelsretreat.org 💕🐾 If you are interested in learning more or contributing about our “ACCTs Of Love” program please go to the following link (or find all our links and ways to donate in our bio): https://www.angelsretreat.org/accts-of-love/
