You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Layla is a shy, gentle dog who will need a patient family willing to earn her trust and work with her at her own pace. She would thrive with another small dog in the home and needs a securely fenced yard to explore safely. Layla is good with cats but is not recommended for a home with young children. With time, love, and consistency, she will blossom into a loyal and loving companion. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. We were happy to keep her out of the shelter system and give her safe place to go. Now, Zoey is ready to find her forever person. This beautiful girl is on a weight loss journey, but she loves her walks and is already trimming down. She also likes to play with squeaky toys. Watching her happily squeak them, tail wagging, has been such a joy! Zoey is house trained, crate trained, and super snuggly. She’s happiest cuddled up to her person on the couch and would make a great work-from-home buddy. Zoey has done well with other low-key dogs. She even did well with the cats she was introduced to!As comes with age, Zoey has some arthritis, but it hasn’t slowed her down much. Meet Raya fka Cherish: Raya is a 7 month old (as of June 10, 2026) lab / bulldog mix (best guess) that weighs about 43 pounds. Raya is a very sweet girl and loves people. She has so many good qualities. Raya needs help with learning puppy manners. She gets very excited when she sees kids and strangers and jumps up on them. Raya needs a family that will provide her with structure and will take the time to teach her what is appropriate and not appropriate behavior.  Raya is potty-trained. She has not been crate-trained in her current home, but sleeps in their bed. We would love for Raya to have a home with a fenced in yard for her to run and play freely. She is up to date on her puppy shots and is spayed. She picked a place that looked safe to have her puppies and luckily the man reached out to a rescue to help the little family. Cherish is very sweet, playful and friendly. Meet Mocha Latte: Mocha Latte about a 2 year old (as of May 2026) terrier / bulldog mix (best guess) that weighs 33 pounds. Mocha Latte was surrendered to the Memphis Animal Shelter by an individual that claimed they were moving to a place that didn't allow dogs. Mocha Latte reached the end of the line at the shelter and luckily we were able to get her into our rescue at the last minute! While walking out of the shelter with us, she was an instant hit among everyone in the lobby. Mocha Latte is now being fostered in the Lancaster, PA area (as of June 6, 2026) and would love to meet her forever family. Mocha Latte is an adorable, engaging doggie that is very easy going. Mocha Latte walks well on a leash and has been a wonderful foster. Mocha Latte wishes she was the right size to curl up on your lap, but is content to join you on the couch whenever she can climb up. Mocha Latte also is a consummate bed buddy and will stay by your side whenever you're home. Mocha Latte is a nice small/medium size pup with short legs and a short tail to match. Mocha Latte is currently using a doggie door and may need some patience as she adjusts to a new house training method. We would love for Mocha Latte to have a home with a fenced in yard so she can play freely. Mocha Latte is up to date on her shots and is spayed.
