You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Layla is a shy, gentle dog who will need a patient family willing to earn her trust and work with her at her own pace. She would thrive with another small dog in the home and needs a securely fenced yard to explore safely. Layla is good with cats but is not recommended for a home with young children. With time, love, and consistency, she will blossom into a loyal and loving companion. She came to us from another shelter after being rescued from a hoarding situation, and despite her past, this happy girl hasn’t let it dim her spirit. Fiddlesticks has been incredibly friendly from day one and settled in beautifully with her foster family. She loves to play, go for walks, cuddle up with the other dogs, and ride in the car like a pro! Best of all, she has had no accidents in her foster home. Story
Gus is a high energy fun loving guy. He is great with people after he gets to know them. Great with kids. Never any concern there. We purchased Gus and his brother Gus from a local family when they were puppies. They did great together in the beginning but as time passed they started becoming aggressive towards each other and on occasion they would fight. The last fight ended them both needing medical attention. Because of this we think it is best to rehome Gus. He doesn’t get along with other dogs or cats since the fights with his brother. He has also become anxious. He would do amazing in a no pet home where he gets all the attention.

This 9 month old cutie is Rock! He is a Pomeranian and Boston terrier mix. He is a character! He smiles and it is the best thing ever! Rock is a go with the flow type of dog who loves to have a bit of fun before taking a nap. He loves playing with his toys and loves playing in water! He shares his foster home with other dogs and a cat. He lived with children in his previous home. Rock is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines. He is available for adoption at the Pet Pantry's main facility in Lancaster. Meet Mocha Latte: Mocha Latte about a 2 year old (as of May 2026) terrier / bulldog mix (best guess) that weighs 33 pounds. Mocha Latte was surrendered to the Memphis Animal Shelter by an individual that claimed they were moving to a place that didn't allow dogs. Mocha Latte reached the end of the line at the shelter and luckily we were able to get her into our rescue at the last minute! While walking out of the shelter with us, she was an instant hit among everyone in the lobby. Mocha Latte is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Mocha Latte is an adorable, engaging doggie that is very easy going. Mocha Latte walks well on a leash and has been a wonderful foster. Mocha Latte wishes she was the right size to curl up on your lap, but is content to join you on the couch whenever she can climb up. Mocha Latte also is a consummate bed buddy and will stay by your side whenever you're home. Mocha Latte is a nice small/medium size pup with short legs and a short tail to match. Mocha Latte is currently using a doggie door and may need some patience as she adjusts to a new house training method. We would love for Mocha Latte to have a home with a fenced in yard so she can play freely. Mocha Latte is up to date on her shots and is spayed.
