Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!My name is Taylor.  I came to the ranch when I was 7 weeks old and have been here for almost 2 years.  I have a bladder problem that cannot be surgically corrected.  I could wear diapers but I absolutely hate them!!  Here at the ranch I do not have to wear a diaper because they mop and steam floors several times a day but I drip and they don't make me feel bad about it :)I may spend my life here but if I do I will be loved and accepted even though I can't hold my bladder :) I love to give kisses and recieve pets!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!April 14, 2025, 10:17 am

Story
"Hi friends! I'm Zora! I am a 4.5 year old female boston terrier. I was given to Zoe's House Rescue when my breeder retired me from their program. I was not feeling very well at the time. I had broken and rotting teeth that were causing me a lot of pain, and I wasn't eating well because of this. I also had a urinary tract infection that caused a lot of pain for me. Today, I am feeling much, much better! I have had antibiotics for my UTI, and received a major dental surgery that resulted in over 20 teeth being removed! It has made my life so much easier to not be in pain! I love to play with the toys in my foster home! As I've become more comfortable, I've started hoarding my toys under the bed! Once a week my foster mom has to fish them all out - ruining all my hard work gathering them up! I guess it's alright though, I'll just start all over! I am the definition of a couch potato. I would sleep all night, have breakfast, then take a nap all day, have dinner, and nap until bedtime every day if I could! Snuggling is my favorite thing ever. All it takes to make me happy is a blankie and someone to cuddle up to. I am doing well with house training, but I have needed frequent trips outside due to the UTI. Now that I'm feeling better, I am buckling down and working on finishing potty training. I'll need some continued reminders once adopted, but I'm a good pup and I'll get it in no time. In foster care, I am coming out of my shell and becoming quite happy and affectionate. I really enjoy my foster family! I'm hoping to find a forever home with at least one other dog. I'm also good with the cats and rabbits in my foster home." Zora is being fostered in Southern Lancaster County and interested adopters must come to her foster home twice. The first visit is a meet and greet with all the members of the household including existing dogs in the home. The second visit is to take her home. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and is negative for heartworm. She is routinely treated with parasite preventatives. Go online to www.zoeshouserescue.com and complete an adoption application! We do not always receive applications submitted through adoptapet or petfinder. Story
Hello there! My Name is Merida, and I am a Boston Terrier! I am about 2 years old and 25lbs. I am shy with strangers, but easily bribed by cheese. My foster dad has been spoiling me rotten the last few weeks since we met. He's pretty great, but what I really want is my own family! I walk reasonably well on the leash, but it isn't my favorite thing. I need to keep working on it. I like to snuggle and sit on my foster dad's lap. We like to hang out outside on the porch in the evenings. I am good with other dogs, but a little too interested in cats. My foster home has chickens, ducks, and rabbits. I was fascinated by them at first, but now I'm used to all the friends here. I tend to startle easily, so I will need a physical fence or to always be leashed while outside. I consider myself housebroken, but accidents happen in new environments. I may need reminders and extra opportunities to go outside in the first weeks at a new home. Due to my nervous side, I am looking for an adult only home. Someday I may be able to live with kids, but right now I need to focus on myself and my growing confidence. Since I love to eat, my foster family has been helping me learn about new things with treat encouragement! I am looking for a family who will be patient and kind towards me. If given some time to settle in, I will be your best friend! Merida is being fostered in Southern Lancaster County and interested adopters must come to her foster home twice. Story
Hello to all, I’m Nina, a 6 year old, approx. 20# Boston Terrier like NO OTHER! Retired from life of breeding, I’ve had my fill of other dogs both “male” (fur sure) and female. My pups were great but always taken from me over, and over and over again causing me to say “Enough is Enough” with other dogs (No Cats too). I MUST BE your ONE AND ONLY! NO way shape or form can I be near another dog, live with, befriend or even have access to another dog so a GOOD STURDY FENCE required for my adoption. NO EXCEPTIONS. On the “FLIP SIDE”, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, can’t say it enough, LOVE ALL PEOPLE from little crawly smelly dirty diaper tikes to gray haired old fogies, grumpy seniors. I DON’T CARE, I’ll love them to the end of the world and back! Talk about being STUCK TO YOUR HIP? Well, I’m a definite VELCRO GAL! You go upstairs, I go upstairs, down, I do down, in/out, whatever.. I’m there for you CONTANTLY a companion to give love, kisses and a smile on my face to MAKE YOUR DAY as you Faithful Companion! Described as a “Cuddle Bug”, curling up with my person ANYTIME is where it’s at. Being a Boston Gal, I do have a bubbly personality that is comical at times, but also calm, cool and mature to enjoy lap time. If you think you’d want to “CUDDLE UP WITH ME” shoot Molly’s Place and e mail to meet me, NINA, a gal that can’t stand other dogs, but makes up for it with all love directed to her person/people! To submit an adoption application, visit mollysplacerescue.org. Fill the form out completely, print, scan and email back to mollysplace@verizon.net. You must obtain pre-approval prior to visiting the dog or cat. Adoptions fees include the following:    spay/neuter surgery,  microchip and registration,  age appropriate vaccinations,  initial dewormings,  Activyl for fleas,  tested for FeLV and FIV (cats only),  bubble bath prior to going home (dogs only) WE do not "HOLD" animals without an approved application and a non-refundable/non-transferable paid adoption fee.  Adoptions are on a first come, first serve basis.  We can not send extra pictures.  WE do not ship, you must pick up the pet.  Kitties must be transported in a secure cat carrier.   Pooches require a "martingale" collar and a non-retractable leash. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 18, 2025, 9:44 am

Story
Meet Lucas! Lucas was pulled as part of “Angel Retreat’s ACCT’s of love” program. Lucas was originally brought into the only open intake shelter in Philadelphia after being found as a stray, along with his buddy Levi. They both were happy, friendly puppies but were reported to not be eating. Unsurprisingly, they both tested positive for Parvo and were immediately treated. They received lots of love and supportive care and now have fully recovered and are ready for homes of their own! Lucas is a 4 month old pitbull/boston terrier mixed breed who is full of happiness for his second chance at life! Lucas is a young and happy puppy and will require a family up to the task of providing him the ample physical and mental exercise and training that all puppies require. If you are interested in being considered for them please apply on our website at www.angelsretreat.org 💕🐾
