Story
Meet Otis, the most adorable French bulldog and Miniature Pinscher mixed pup! Otis is 1 year and 8 months old. He is neutered, vaccinated, and ready for a forever home. His special superpower is his ability to always have his lips stuck on his teefs. Otis was surrendered to us because his humans did not have time for him. We were told that he consistently had accidents in the house and that he was alone most of the day. We could tell that he lacked obedience and did not know boundaries upon intake. His humans did love him, but they did not provide him with a routine or any mental and physical stimulation. He is now doing well with a consistent routine and learning to be a well-behaved pup. His foster mom reports that Otis has not had any accidents in the house since he came. He is a medium sized dog, but he thinks that he is a tiny pup and insists on always getting in your lap. Otis is the epitome of a Velcro dog! He is very affectionate and would love to be with you all the time. Personal boundaries do not exist in his vocab. His favorite thing in the whole world must be chest and belly rubs because he can never get enough of it. Otis will sometimes throw tantrums when he is denied attention but can easily be distracted when you throw a toy for him to chase after. Speaking of toys, Otis LOVES chewing on all the toys. Durable chew toys are a must for this boy. He can be very energetic when playing tug or zooming around the house and yard--and because of this, we think the best environment for Otis is a home without young children. And although he will happily cuddle and snooze on the couch, Otis needs daily walks so that he can exercise his body as well as his brain. Otis is used to doing whatever he wants and will try and push his boundaries to see what he can get away with. However, he is a quick learner with high value food rewards. We are making strides with crate training and leash walking. Otis needs a home with a human that he can trust and depend on. His perfect human will understand that he has been neglected and will continue to help him heal by providing him with lots of love, a consistent routine, and be persistent with his obedience training. Story
Meet Beatrix (Bea / Queen Bea)! Beatrix is a 4-year-old French Bulldog who is ready to retire into the life of comfort she more than deserves. A former breeding mom, Bea is spayed, fully vetted, and up to date on all vaccinations. Bea has an unforgettable face. Her wonderfully quirky looks often stop people mid-sentence before making them laugh, and they are very much part of her charm. She wears her uniqueness with confidence and seems fully aware that her presence alone is enough to run the show. Friendly and outgoing, Bea enjoys her daily walks and walks well on leash. She is accustomed to using a lead for potty time in the backyard. With a medium-to-low energy level, she is happiest balancing short adventures with long stretches of lounging like the queen she knows she is. She has never met a couch or dog bed she didn’t immediately claim as her own. Bea is doing well with crate and house training, though some regression may be expected as she adjusts to a new home. She does not bark—literally, never. On occasion, she may offer a few protest whines (particularly if she feels crate time is unjustified), but that’s the extent of it. Beatrix would do best in a home where she can receive plenty of individual attention. She may thrive as an only dog but could also do well with another calm, laid-back canine companion. A home with children ages 10 and older is recommended. Bea is looking for adopters who appreciate personality, confidence, and a dog whose looks are as bold as her presence. She is truly one of a kind and ready to find her forever home. She is being fostered in Lancaster County. Potential adopters must be willing to travel twice-once for a meet and greet and then again on pick up day. Please apply at www.zoeshouserescue.com Kennel license 9117 Reading PA 19608

Story
Phoebe has discovered the good life, and there's no going back! Phoebe is a 3 year old fawn French Bulldog who came to us from a commercial breeder. Phoebe is a lovebug who enjoys cuddles, playing with her toys, and her fur siblings. She is fine with other dogs of all ages and sizes, as well as cats. She has perfected her "Princess and the Pea" imitation as she moves from one comfy orthopedic bed to another, assessing and evaluating each bed's attributes. She's not fussy, but she has created her own rating system for each bed - the louder the snore, the higher her rating! At 37 pounds, she's on the large side for a Frenchie; she's solid but definitely not overweight. (If Phoebe were a vehicle, she'd be a RAM truck, not a Camry). Excess weight is not good for Phoebe because she has been diagnosed with significant hip dysplasia. She currently has no mobility issues, and takes a joint supplement to help keep her joints as flexible as possible. She had one joint flare-up while in foster care that responded well to meds and rest. Adopters should be prepared for the fact that her hip and joint issues are likely to worsen with age. Gentle exercise, an orthopedic dog bed, weight management, and joint supplements will be key to keeping her comfortable and to avoid - or at least delay - any long term effects as long as possible. Pain management and/or surgery at some point are also possibilities. Photos of Phoebe show her quirky asymmetrical ears, which only adds to her cuteness. We believe her floppy ear is due to excessive ear infections left untreated in her previous life. Her skin and ears are doing fine on a lamb-based food (readily available in pet stores, not a prescription). Phoebe is house trained, although regression can occur with a change in environment. She isn’t a big fan of being crated during the day, but willingly crates next to her buddy at night (a couple of treats help - she's an easy sell when food is involved!) and she sleeps through the night with no issue. She does not love the leash, so a fenced in yard would be ideal for this sweet girl. She is spayed, micro chipped, and UTD on all vaccines and preventatives. Interested in adopting? Story
Fern is a snuggly older dog whom we love so so much and are pained to part with. She really, really loves to snuggle so she is best suited for someone who needs a snuggling companion! She loves walks, people, lying in the sun, catching a bit of food that falls off of the table, other dogs, and occasional play. She is easy going and sweet. A wonderful companion in so many ways. Because we are moving out of the country and she is an older dog, we cannot take her with us. We want most of all to find a loving home for her. She is a smaller dog and does well indoors (she does not shed). She has had only one owner her whole life, being first acquired as a puppy in August of 2012 in Tallahassee, FL. Everyone is her friend but only a few special people are her snuggle buddy. If you are looking for a snuggle buddy, you will not find a better dog.

Chanel and her siblings were being held in deplorable conditions. Our family fosters dogs and we could not let them continue to live like that. So we paid the middleman and brought them to our home. They have since been living the good life!! But we have too many dogs of our own to keep Chanel and her brother, Tito. We would love for them to be adopted together and will offer a $500 discount on each if adopted together.

Story
Hey there! I am Codi, aka Coco! I am a 11 year old boston terrier, but I am young at heart! I am still very active and eager to adventure! I love going places and meeting people. I am also a nap queen who never misses an opportunity for some quality ZZZ's. When I came to Zoe's in June 2025, I was leaving my family for the first time ever, and I was a little unsure. My family loved me dearly but knew they weren't able to meet my needs. In my foster home, I quickly overcame my nerves and settled right in. I had some struggles early on with accepting that I wasn't the only queen in this castle, but now I am friends with all the other dogs in my foster home. I've also done well meeting other dogs at adoption events. I do prefer dogs who are close to my size, unless the bigger ones can prove to me that they are respectful. I have had some health struggles, but now I am feeling fabulous. I have had two surgeries since coming to Zoe's House Rescue, and healed wonderfully with lots of TLC. I had seven mammary tumors and two other tumors that all needed removed. The tumors were biopsied and came back with multiple kinds of cancerous and pre-cancerous cells! However, our amazing vet was able to get clear margins on all my masses, meaning I am cancer free now!! I plan to make the most of my second chance, and meeting my new family is top priority! I absolutely LOVE kids and all people! I am good with easy going dog friends, but don't love rude or pushy dogs. I am actually a hunting dog under this disguise of a Boston Terrier, and I do chase cats, chickens, ducks, rabbits, and other small pets. Overall, my ideal home just has to have a soft couch and some hands to pet me. I'd love to meet you!! Codi is medically cleared and ready for her next chapter! Full medical records are available to adopters. Codi is spayed, vaccinated, has had recent bloodwork, and has been kept up to date on parasite preventions since joining the rescue. She is a happy go lucky dog who just needs a loving home for her senior years...not that she knows she is a senior! Codi is fostered in the Lancaster Pa area.
