Story
Meet Mimzi:Mimzi is a medium-sized sweetheart who has already proven just how resilient and loving a dog can be. She was found as a stray suffering from severe skin infections and significant burns along her back. When she first arrived, she was understandably frightened—approaching her would cause her to fall to the ground and shake.Today, Mimzi is a completely different girl. She has gained confidence, happily greets people for affection, and shows nothing but love despite her past abuse and neglect.Mimzi truly loves everyone she meets and has shown no aggression. She is good with other dogs, though her play skills are still developing, and her interactions have been limited while her wounds continue to heal. She ignores house cats and would do well in a variety of home settings, including apartments. She walks well on leash but can pull at times—using a harness or gentle leader would be ideal. Mimzi rides calmly in a crate for car trips, sleeps well in a crate (though she prefers her run), and is successfully using a grass potty pad system, making her an easy fit for apartment living. Her burns are healing nicely with minimal scarring, and her personality continues to blossom. Mimzi is learning how to play with toys and other dogs, discovering what it means to simply be a dog.Mimzi would do well in almost any home—she just wants kindness, consistency, and people to love.If you’re looking for a gentle, grateful companion with a heart of gold, Mimzi may be the perfect match.Name: MimziBreed: French Bulldog/CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 2 years  (estimated)Weight: 30lbsSpayed/Neutered: NoVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Good with Children: UnknownGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $550.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  Texas  IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Rex is the kind of dog who barrels into your life, rearranges your couch cushions, steals your heart, and then plops directly into your lap like he’s always belonged there. He’s compact, sturdy, and full of personality. Think short legs, smashy face, crooked little mouth, and a lip that hangs over just enough to make you laugh every single time he looks up at you. He knows “sit,” he knows food is the greatest thing on earth, and he absolutely knows when he’s not supposed to do something… and occasionally does it anyway. Energy-wise, Rex is a burst-and-settle kind of guy. He comes out hot for about 20 minutes (especially on leash or with new scenery), then he’s perfectly content to crash on the couch and soak up affection. Toss him a tennis ball and you’ll see pure joy, just don’t expect it back. Once it’s in his mouth, that ball is his and he earned it fair and square. Rex loves other dogs and really wants a full-time canine playmate who can keep up and wrestle. He’s social, playful, and confident, but backs down quickly if corrected. He’s crate trained and settles well, rides great in the car, loves looking out the window, and thrives in a more rural or space-filled environment where he can burn off energy and experience new things. Cats and chickens are a hard no. Leash skills are a work in progress, and if he finds an open door, he will test his speed, which is impressive for a short-legged, smash-nose guy who somehow breathes just fine while doing it. Rex isn’t a polished, perfectly mannered dog. He’s real. He’s funny. He’s affectionate. He leans into you, gets all up in your personal space, and genuinely wants to make his person happy. With consistency, structure, and someone who appreciates a big personality in a small, sturdy body, he’s going to be an incredible companion.   This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)   To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   PLEASE READ:     •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. Story
Meet Hamm, affectionately called Hamster. This 1.5-year-old, 28-lb French Bulldog came from the streets of Texas and has been glowing up ever since. He’s goofy, affectionate, social, and everything people love about the breed. He just needs someone who understands that Frenchies thrive with structure, not a free-for-all.   Dog Friendly: Absolutely. He’s lived with all kinds of dogs in both Texas and Massachusetts and does great with fair, confident companions. Hamm is more of a parallel play guy than a wrestle-and-roll type, and he’s perfectly content hanging out alongside another dog rather than roughhousing. With softer dogs he may test boundaries, but he responds immediately when structure is in place. Cats: No. He’ll chase them for sport and then panic when they turn around. Kids: No small children. He’s a sensitive boy who does best in a predictable home.   Behavior: Hamster is a snuggly, people-oriented dog who wants to be near you. Like many Frenchies, he feels safest when the rules are clear. Once his foster tightened routine and removed furniture privileges, he settled beautifully. With guidance he’s easy, funny, and very eager to please.   Training & Routine: • Crate trained with zero issues • Potty training is going very well but routine is key • Loves food and is easy to motivate, and loves to learn • Sensitive boy who responds best to calm, confident handling   Medical: Recovered beautifully from cherry eye surgery. Healthy and cleared.   Ideal Home: Someone with Frenchie or bully-breed experience who understands structure, management, and the dramatic charm of the breed. He can live with another dog who isn’t a pushover, or thrive as an only dog soaking up all the attention. Someone who enjoys a cuddly shadow but doesn’t mistake “cute” for “easy.” If you’ve successfully lived with this type of breed and enjoy a cuddly sidekick with a big personality, Hamster is a fantastic match.   Breed experience is required. This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. 🎉 Meet Al! The Ultimate Playmate! 🐾 Get ready to zoom! Al is a striking, 65 lb Bully mix boy (DOB: 09/04/24) who brings a massive dose of fun and snuggles everywhere he goes. 💖 All About the Love If you are looking for an affectionate dog, look no further! Al is an absolute love bug who is incredibly affectionate with everyone. Seriously, all people—including kids—are his best friends! He is neutered, fully current on all his medical needs (vaccines, heartworm, and flea prevention), and microchipped for life. He's also a smart cookie: he is crate trained, house broken and knows some basic commands already! 🤸 Ready, Set, GO! This handsome hunk is a firecracker! Al has high energy, so forget lazy afternoons—he MUST have vigorous daily exercise to burn off steam and be his happiest, most balanced self. He’s looking for an active family ready for adventures. Because of his need to run and play safely, a securely fenced yard is required. A quick word on little ones: While he adores children, his enthusiasm and size can sometimes be "too much" for the smallest kids; he could accidentally knock a tiny human over during playtime. A home with older, sturdy children would be the best fit! 🐈 Critter Connections He's been good with cats, but watch out—he's a bit of a goofball and tends to "harass" them (in a playful way, of course!). Tolerant felines are a must, or maybe just a cat-free zone. Al is ready to be your shadow, your running buddy, and your ultimate couch potato after a good long walk. Are you ready for his all-star energy?
