Story
Due to the owner's illness, Miss Fig was returned to us as her family could no longer care for her. Miss Fig embodies everything you would expect from her breed—she is comical and full of personality. She thrives in a home with another small dog but can also be your one and only companion. Her compatibility with cats is unknown. Fig is both housetrained and crate trained. She adores car rides and eagerly waits by the door to accompany you on errands. Playful and energetic, she can enjoy a cozy evening watching TV or engage in a lively game of tug. Veterinary care can be costly, and French Bulldogs often require more medical attention than many other breeds. Fig has a luxating patella, which does not affect her mobility, but you will need to keep an eye on her zoomies. Last year, her ears were treated twice for yeast and bacteria infections. After switching her diet to Venture Rabbit and Pumpkin dry formula, her ear issues have significantly decreased. She also had a histoma in her ear that was treated, resulting in one ear flopping when it healed, which we believe adds to her charm. Additionally, she requires daily tail cleaning using Malaket (dispensed from her veterinarian) wipes for her tail and pocket. If this level of care seems overwhelming, it may be best to reconsider adopting a Frenchie, as this is minimal compared to the needs of other French Bulldogs. Submit your app at www.almosthomeri.org

Story
Meet Dave 🐾 Dave is a 1.5-year-old Frenchie with a personality that’s as perfect as they come. He’s friendly, affectionate, and full of that classic French Bulldog charm—equal parts goofy entertainer and professional cuddle bug. Dave loves being around people and is happiest when he’s included in whatever you’re doing, whether that’s hanging out at home or heading out for an adventure. He’s also great with kids and has the kind of easygoing, loving temperament that makes him a wonderful family companion. Dave may also do well with other dogs of a similar size and temperament, especially with proper introductions. Dave is truly an incredible dog—but he is also a special one. He has a condition called Fanconi Syndrome, which means his body doesn’t process nutrients the way it should. Because of this, Dave will require lifelong care, including a prescription diet, daily supplements, and regular monitoring with an internal medicine specialist. While he feels great and lives a happy, normal life, his care will be more involved—and more expensive—than the average dog. His future family should be prepared and committed to meeting those needs. Dave doesn’t let any of this define him—he’s still the same joyful, loving pup who just wants a family to call his own. If you’re ready to open your heart (and plan ahead for his medical care), Dave will reward you with endless love, laughter, and companionship. Apply to adopt today, and/or email dogs@rispca.org with any questions! 🐶

Story
Athena is a tiny, vibrating mass of affection and sheer joy! She is a 6-yr old French Bulldog/ Boston Terrier mix. She is excited to meet any visitor, any neighbor, any stranger. She will greet them all with exuberance! Athena is a genuinely happy, goofy, super-friendly girl…UNTIL…a dog comes along. ANY dog, as far as we can tell. There is only one exception, sweet lil’ Asher (8yo male Chihuahua. Please have a look at his profile)! They came from the same home, were surrendered together, & are BFF’s. We believe they can be separated to be adopted, but they would LOVE to stay together. It is clear that Athena has not been socialized with any other dogs & isn’t likely to be open to the idea, at her age. Based on her attitude and our experience with her, Athena must be the only dog in the home (unless, of course, Asher tugged at your heartstrings). This would look like others not being allowed to bring their dogs with them when they visit you; being unable to take her with you when visiting friends/family who have a dog; dog parks would be a no-no, as well; She would always need to be on leash in public. That may sound like a lot, but it’s not much. Athena…Now, she is A LOT! A lot of fun; a lot of laughs; a lot of kisses; and a lot of love FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed. Athena's adoption fee is $275. Story
26 pounds of muscle and cute. Low energy. High character. Dreaux walks like he owns the sidewalk. Confident. Polite with other dogs. Sleeps through the night. Loves car rides. Runs to the car like it’s a VIP invitation. He previously lived with multiple dogs of all sizes and cats. He is currently living with another dog and continues to be respectful and social. He greets politely, says hello, and moves on. He is truly dog friendly and cat friendly. He’s smart, funny, sweet, and just stubborn enough to make you laugh. : . Here’s what matters. He went quite some time without medication or monitoring and remained completely stable. He is currently medicated, looks great, feels great, and the only visible difference is healthier skin and a better coat. His needs are very manageable and low cost in the grand scheme of things, especially compared to many French Bulldogs. This is something we will discuss in detail with seriously interested adopters so you understand exactly what that means. If you think Dreaux could be a good fit for your home, submit an application and we will talk through everything with you.   Breed experience is required to adopt.    This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)   To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   PLEASE READ:     •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.     •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.     •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments.   Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.   Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.   For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.   ##2636703##

Story
🎉 Meet Al! The Ultimate Playmate! 🐾 Get ready to zoom! Al is a striking, 65 lb Bully mix boy (DOB: 09/04/24) who brings a massive dose of fun and snuggles everywhere he goes. 💖 All About the Love If you are looking for an affectionate dog, look no further! Al is an absolute love bug who is incredibly affectionate with everyone. Seriously, all people—including kids—are his best friends! He is neutered, fully current on all his medical needs (vaccines, heartworm, and flea prevention), and microchipped for life. He's also a smart cookie: he is crate trained, house broken and knows some basic commands already! 🤸 Ready, Set, GO! This handsome hunk is a firecracker! Al has high energy, so forget lazy afternoons—he MUST have vigorous daily exercise to burn off steam and be his happiest, most balanced self. He’s looking for an active family ready for adventures. Because of his need to run and play safely, a securely fenced yard is required. A quick word on little ones: While he adores children, his enthusiasm and size can sometimes be "too much" for the smallest kids; he could accidentally knock a tiny human over during playtime. A home with older, sturdy children would be the best fit! 🐈 Critter Connections He's been good with cats, but watch out—he's a bit of a goofball and tends to "harass" them (in a playful way, of course!). Tolerant felines are a must, or maybe just a cat-free zone. Al is ready to be your shadow, your running buddy, and your ultimate couch potato after a good long walk. Are you ready for his all-star energy? If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/forms PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our rescue pets are fostered in Southern foster homes (unless otherwise stated) and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!
