Story
*Currently fostered in Houston Texas, available for out of state adoptions via rescue transportation. Video meet and greet available prior to commitment* This dog is a collaborative effort between Moka's Mission and Houston Chow Chow Connection. Mocha is a fluffy mixed pup just eager to find her new lease in life. She was rescued from a kill shelter in Texas just moments before being euthanized. She is believed to be around 4 years old, and based on behaviors definitely has GSD, Chow Chow, and even possibly husky mixed in her as well. Current weight around 65, 70 lbs. Mocha is a smiling, eager to please, extremely intelligent pup who clearly has been desperate for reaching a potential that was never offered to her prior. She loves to play with toys now, ( was unfamiliar with on arrival) and can be quirky, and vocal during her playful bouts. A game of tug which result in some head pats is her favorite. She also is very smart, and when given attention and motivation is quick to learn. She already knows several basic commands including sit, shake, kennel, wait, settle, and leave it. She is extremely versatile and once she trusts you, will give you her best. If you want to go hiking or exercise, she is all about it. If you want a pup to relax in the home and enjoy a movie day, she is ready! She loves to curl up on the couch or at your feet when it's time to settle down, but when it's time to go she is the first one to be there and ready for you. She also loves to keep you company while you do the most menial house chore's such as laundry or dishes. Mocha clearly was kept away from other dogs and animals when she was owned previously, so we do think she'd be best as an only pup. Proper continued socialization training would be required in order for her to eventually be able to share space with other dogs, but she would need to be socialized as an only dog first before considering adding another in. She clearly has a desire to want to know other dogs and can walk by them and flirt while on leash just fine during walks. However, she hasn't had enough time and proper playmates to engage in playtime at present without being rough. Unfortunately, she is not ok with cats, which is to be expected of the breeds she possesses. Mocha is fully vetted meaning she is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped and on monthly prevention for flea, tick, and heartworm. Her adoption fee and transport is dependent on services used. Story
Hi future family, My name is Donggu. 😊 I’m a 4-year-old German Shepherd boy weighing around 32kg. I may look big and strong on the outside, but deep down I’m a gentle, calm soul who truly loves people. 💛 Before I was rescued, I was living in a city shelter and came very close to euthanasia. I went through difficult times, but somehow I never lost my trust in humans. Even now, I still greet people with kindness and an open heart. When I meet someone new, I usually lower my head slightly and greet them very politely — that’s just my way of saying hello. During walks, I sometimes wag my tail and gently approach people passing by because I genuinely enjoy human company. And honestly… if you have a treat, we’ll probably become best friends very quickly. 😊 If unfamiliar visitors come into the house, I may be a little cautious at first, but I warm up pretty fast once I realize everything is okay. I also get along wonderfully with other dogs and even cats. 🐕🐈 Whether I become your one and only dog or join a home with other pets, I adapt very well and enjoy peaceful companionship. My personality is calm and gentle overall, but I also enjoy outdoor activities and walks. I’m not overly high-energy, so I’m the kind of dog who enjoys both adventure and relaxing quietly beside my family. Walks are one of my favorite things in the world. I love sniffing around and exploring new scents. I can pull on the leash a little sometimes because I get excited, but if my person asks me to stop, I listen pretty well. Loud cars, flapping banners, cats, or birds during walks don’t really bother me much — I’m usually more focused on enjoying the moment with my human. I prefer going potty outside and enjoy having a regular routine, usually with morning and evening walks. I don’t struggle with separation anxiety, but if soft toys, cushions, or fluffy items are left around while I’m alone, I might chew on them a little for fun. Other than that, I’m a very quiet and relaxed boy at home and rarely bark. I absolutely love sweet potatoes and chicken, and I’m not picky with food at all. Even taking medicine is easy for me if it’s hidden inside a yummy snack. I’m also very polite at the vet and stay calm during checkups.💛 People say I’m smart and very observant. If you teach me something calmly, I try hard to understand what you want from me. Right now, I’m learning “sit” and doing my best every day. 😊 I’ve experienced many changes and difficult moments in my life, but I still believe in people and still know how to love. Now I’m hoping to find more than just a temporary place to stay. I want a real family — someone to walk beside, rest beside, grow older beside, and share everyday life with. I’m waiting patiently for the family who will fill the rest of my life with love, comfort, and forever memories. 🐾 Love, Donggu

Story
At just 11 months old, Santiago is the perfect mix of puppy charm and growing confidence. He’s a happy, curious boy who loves to explore, play, and be near his people. Whether it’s going for walks, chasing toys, or learning new tricks, Santiago is always up for some fun—and he’s a quick learner, too! He gets along great with other dogs and would thrive in a home that can keep up with his playful energy while also giving him the love and guidance all young dogs need. Santiago is currently in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, so we can’t arrange a meet-and-greet, but don’t worry—once adopted, he’ll fly north and his new family will just need to pick him up at the airport. It’s an exciting way to welcome a new best friend! If you’re looking for a sweet, social pup to grow up with, Santiago is ready to meet you

Story
**About Jamie:** Jamie is an international rescue all the way from Taiwan. While "international adoption" might sound like a major undertaking, we have years of experience streamlining this process to make it as smooth as possible. We’ll be right by your side to explain every step! The Journey Home Once your application is approved, the final step of Jamie’s journey begins. Adopters are responsible for picking her up directly from a major international airport. Common arrival hubs include: West Coast: SFO, SEA, LAX, YVR. East Coast & Central: JFK, IAH Meet Jamie: The Wiggle-Hip Wonder! Jamie is a gentle soul who truly blossoms once she knows she’s safe. While she might start off a little shy, her "second impression" is unforgettable—once she recognizes you, she transforms into a bundle of joy, greeting you with a wagging tail and her signature "hip wiggle" dance. 🏠 Home Life & Manners Home Alone: Jamie is a dream when left alone. she does not suffer from separation anxiety and is not destructive. The Kitchen Rule: Because Jamie is a big fan of food, she’s a bit of an "aspiring snack thief." It’s important to keep counters clear and store dog-unfriendly foods (like chocolate) securely out of reach. Sleeping Habits: She is very adaptable! She is happy on a sofa, a floor mat, or an elevated bed. In her current foster home, she is successfully crate-trained for naps and bedtime. While she might try to sneak onto the big bed for morning cuddles, she is very obedient and will hop down if asked. Potty Training: Jamie is a pro at going potty outdoors. She is currently a "blank slate" regarding indoor pee pads, so she’ll do best with a family that can maintain her outdoor routine. 🍖 Food & Training People-Friendly: Jamie has zero food guarding with humans—you can even take a treat right from her mouth. Dog-Friendly: She eats peacefully around other dogs as long as everyone has their own space and bowl. Treat Tip: Jamie gets very enthusiastic about snacks! Because she can be a little "impatient" when taking treats from fingers, we recommend feeding her from an open palm or giving her a gentle "easy" reminder. 🚶 Walks & Adventures On the Leash: Jamie loves her walks. She gets so excited that she might try to beat you out the door! We recommend putting your shoes on before grabbing the leash. Once she settles into her pace, she is a steady walker and isn't bothered by squirrels, birds, or cats. Car Rides: She is an excellent passenger—no carsickness here! Water Fun: Jamie is very cooperative during baths and is unfazed by the sound of a hair dryer. She may try to pull her paws away during nail trims, but with a slow, patient hand, she does just fine. 🐕 Social Butterfly (On Her Own Terms) With Dogs: Jamie gets along well with other pups but prefers a "polite hello" (sniffing) over an immediate "puppy tackle." If a dog is too high-energy right away, she’ll give a small bark to set a boundary and then simply walk away. With People: She is a friend to everyone—men, women, children, and seniors alike. First Introductions: To win Jamie over, start low and slow. Instead of a big, enthusiastic approach, crouch down and let her come to you. Start with head pats, and before you know it, she’ll be leaning against your legs for more. 💪 Bravery Note Jamie is remarkably brave when it comes to loud noises. While most dogs hide from fireworks or loud "pops" (like a bug zapper), Jamie doesn’t bat an eye. She is one cool, collected girl! Is Jamie the missing piece to your family? If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and wiggle-prone companion, Jamie is ready to meet you!

Story
Hi friends! My name is Laika (Loretta in Mexico) and here's more about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: German Shepherd mix Age: 1 year 4 months approx.  Gender: Female Weight: 44lbs (20 kg)  Length: 55cm  Height: 46cm  Current Location: Guadalajara Mexico RESCUE STORY - I was rescued on December 1, 2024, at just 45 days old. My superhero hooman rescuer heard about me - a tiny puppy found alone wandering on the street. Although I showed no signs of physical abuse, it was clear that I had been abandoned by my previous 'family'. Thanks to my foster hooman's tender love and care however, I have been able to thrive and grow into the gentle, sweet and loving pup I am today! TEMPERAMENT - The hoomans around me describe me as a sweet, shy pup with a gentle soul. I am playful, affectionate, friendly, and I get along wonderfully with doggos of all sizes. I have grown into a very obedient and loving companion, who is easily motivated by sausage treats and mangoes. Although I can be shy, I love to be around the hoomans and I get super excited when my foster comes home. I always greet them with joy, knowing a big hug is coming. Besides that, I am a calm pup who likes to play with my favourite toys - Plastic bottles, water jug caps, and empty toilet paper rolls!  ENERGY LEVEL - Low GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Yes! Dogs – I get along well with other pups and currently live with many other doggos at my foster's house! Cats – Unknown (no video footage provided) but I currently live with a cat  PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – My rescuers say I am okay with my leash skills, however I may need some additional patience and training  House trained – My rescuer says I am okay with this but I may need some additional training and patience.  Crate trained – My rescuer says I am okay with this but I may need some additional training and patience.  Car rides – My rescuer says I am good with this but I may need some additional training and patience.  Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES:  I am spayed and vaccinated. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. ✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to Vancouver & Toronto💟 The prices listed are based on USD, and the adoption fee will be calculated in CAD according to the exchange rate. Meet Namu🌳 (Namu means tree in Korean) 💙 Name: Namu 💙 Gender: Male 💙 Age: Estimated 4 years old (Born in May 2021) 💙 Weight: 10.1 kg / 22.3 lb 💙 Adogs News Account: @_adogs_ 1⃣ Health Condition * Neutered. * Microchipped and hearworm negative. * Was recently diagnosed with a bladder infection, so care is needed to make sure he drinks enough water. 2⃣ Rescue Story * Namu was staying at the Gimje City Shelter, where the facilities were beyond capacity. Namu was in the risk of being put down while staying in such a crowded place. Adogs team rescued him in time. 3⃣ Basic Information * With People: Is shy and wary of strangers, and tends to fear being touched. Can be touched when trust is built, and even allows himself to be picked up carefully! * With Dogs: Gives a warning sign such as growling when new dogs smell him or get in his face. Wags his tail and greets familiar dogs, but seems to prefer being alone to playing or hanging out with other dogs. * With Cats: Shows some aggression towards cats, so careful monitoring is needed. * Separation Anxiety: Not confirmed yet, since he resides with other dogs as a group at our center. * Potty Training: Uses outdoor potty only since he is staying at our center. * Hygiene: Takes baths very well Avoids brushing but doesn’t resist it. Gets nervous a bit during toenail trimming but makes no big fuss. * Walks: Is generally good at walking, but tries to chew the leash when he gets surprised by loud noises or feels tension on the leash. Attention is needed to prevent him from running away by chewing the leash. Doesn’t react much to other animals. * Biting: Growls as a warning sign if unfamiliar dogs get in his face, and may bite if they don’t stop. If other dogs show interest in his food, he punches at them with his muzzle, signaling for them to stay away. Has not nipped at a person yet, but has the possibility to do it if a stranger suddenly tries to touch him or he feels threatened. * Likes: Loves eating. However, he may show threatening action to other dogs if they approach during meal times, as if saying not to come close to him. So caution is needed. * Dislikes: Tends to be shy and fearful, so he feels uncomfortable with new people or dogs. Needs time to get accustomed to them. * Personality: Namu is calm and quiet. Although he’s wary and fearful of new people and environments, he accepts human touch well if you match his pace and approach him slowly.
