Story
Cass is great with kids of all ages, tolerates cats, and she doesn’t bother the chickens. She’s never bit anyone, but she is very protective. Cass is a VERY anxious dog that needs lots of attention and structure, unfortunately we can no longer provide her with the care she needs. We feel she would do well in an active household where she would get lots of love and attention. She is terrified of thunder storms, fireworks, and any other loud noises. She is a very sweet girl and will give you all the kisses to show her appreciation. Cass’s favorite activities are playing fetch, going on walks, and going on adventures. We are looking for a family that could give her the security and love she deserves.

Story
✨ Meet Nixie – A Little Magic, A Lot of Heart! ✨ Like the mythical water spirit she's named after, Nixie can be a little shy when you first meet her. This 1-year-old, 64-pound German Shepherd may be a bit flinchy around new people, but bring a few tasty treats and you'll quickly discover the sweet girl hiding beneath her cautious exterior. Food is the way to Nixie's heart, and with a little patience and positive reinforcement, her confidence continues to grow. Once she knows you're a friend, she's happy to let her gentle personality shine. Nixie isn't a fan of every dog she meets, so a mandatory meet and greet is required to help make sure she's the right fit for your home. Before heading home, Nixie will be spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. If you're looking for a loyal companion who's worth taking the time to get to know, Nixie is ready to work a little magic on your heart. 🐾💙

Story
Meet Cobalt! 🐾 Cobalt is a big, handsome 8-year-old German Shepherd with a heart that's still learning to trust. Cobalt came to us as a stray, scared and unsure of the world. It's no surprise he's a little cautious with new people at first — but underneath that caution is a genuinely sweet boy who just needs time, consistency, and someone willing to let him come out of his shell at his own pace. A few things to know about Cobalt: 🎾 He's a total goofball once he's outside — playful, energetic, and clearly happiest when he's got some room to romp around. 🍖 Food motivated, which makes him a great candidate for positive reinforcement training and building trust through treats. 🦴 Cobalt shows some signs of arthritis, so a home that can offer him a comfy bed, manageable exercise, and maybe a joint supplement would help him feel his best. 🚫 He's not a fan of the leash right now — patient, gradual leash training in a low-stress way will go a long way for him. 🏡 Since he's undersocialized, he'll do best with a family who understands his background and can give him the time and structure he needs to build confidence. 👦 We recommend a home with kids 8 and up, so Cobalt can settle in without feeling overwhelmed. Cobalt is neutered and will be microchipped and up to date on vaccines before heading home, so he'll be ready for his fresh start. Cobalt is looking for a patient home. Give him the time to trust you, and you may have a loyal, playful companion for years to come. Come meet this big sweet boy today! 🐾

Story
Luther 🐾🤍 They say every great story deserves a happy ending... and we think Luther's is still waiting to be written. This handsome 10-year-old, 105-pound German Shepherd mix arrived at the shelter as a stray, so we don't know what his life looked like before now. What we do know is that this distinguished gentleman deserves something every senior dog should have—a soft bed, a full belly, and someone to love him through his golden years. Luther is deaf, so he'll appreciate a family that communicates with patience, gentle guidance, and lots of love. He also has some arthritis, which means he's more interested in leisurely strolls and cozy naps than running marathons. At this stage of life, comfort is king, and Luther is ready to embrace the simple joys of a peaceful home. Luther will be neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations before going home. He also qualifies for both a Senior Pet Waiver and an Arthritis Waiver. If you've ever considered opening your heart to a senior dog, Luther is hoping you'll choose him. He may have a little gray on his muzzle and a few extra miles behind him, but he still has plenty of love left to give—and every old soul deserves to know what it feels like to be someone's beloved best friend.

Story
Meet Max! 🐾 Big goofy grin, bigger personality. Max is a 1½-year-old German Shepherd mix, 73 pounds of pure enthusiasm, looking for a family who wants a dog with a whole lot of love to give (and maybe a few chewed-up bowls along the way — more on that below). Max ended up at the shelter as a stray, but don't let that sad start fool you — this guy is all wagging tail and zoomies. He's got that classic Shepherd energy: goofy, a little wild, and totally devoted once he bonds with you. If you like your dogs with some spunk and personality, Max is your guy. A few things that make Max, Max: 🦴 He's convinced that bowls, toys, and pretty much anything within reach are snacks. Durable, Max-proof toys are a must! 🎾 Toy and food motivated, which makes him a great candidate for training — he's smart and eager to work for a reward. 🐕 Can get a little possessive over his favorite toys, so he'd do best in a home that understands resource guarding and can work with him on it (adults-only or experienced-dog-parent household preferred). ⚡ Friendly but full of energy — the "crazy" kind of friendly where he just can't contain his excitement to see you. Max is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all his vaccines, so he's ready to start his next chapter as soon as he finds his people. Because of his personality, a mandatory meet-and-greet is required with all resident dogs before adoption — we want to make sure it's a great match for everyone, Max included. If you've got the patience for a work-in-progress and the love for a dog who will absolutely adore you back, come meet Max today. He's waiting to show you just how good a good boy can be. 🐾

🏁 Start Your Engines... Indy Is Ready for the Race of a Lifetime! 🏁 Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Forever Family Grand Prix! In Lane 8, we have Indy—a beautiful 8-year-old, 72-pound German Shepherd with one dream: to race straight into the heart of her perfect family! Every great driver needs a pit crew, and Indy is looking for patient teammates who will cheer her on as she builds confidence. She's a little undersocialized and can be head shy, so she appreciates gentle handling and people who let her go at her own pace. Luckily, her fuel of choice is treats! Indy is wonderfully food motivated, making snacks the perfect way to earn her trust and celebrate every victory along the track. We recommend a home with kids ages 8 and up who can help keep race day calm and encouraging while Indy settles into her new surroundings. Before taking the checkered flag, Indy will be spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. All that's left is finding the team she'll cross the finish line with. So... are you ready to wave the green flag? Because Indy is revved up and ready to race her way into your heart! 🏆🐾
