Ellie Mae, the 11-month-old female German Shepherd mix, is on the hunt for a forever home at CCHS. She's not exactly a cat person and would thrive in a cat-free zone. Having rocked the kid and dog roommate life before, this energetic goofball is all about playtime. Swing by CCHS and meet this playful pup if you're up for some tail-wagging fun!

Story
Hey there, I'm Courtney, the sweetest 5-year-old German Shepherd weighing in at 60.4 pounds. I don't require tons of exercise, but I enjoy going for walks and playing in the house or yard with other dogs. Regular walks and interactive playtime will help keep me mentally and physically stimulated. A fenced yard would be paw-some for me, especially when nature calls - I'm not a fan of doing my business while on a leash. I thrive in an active home filled with kids and other furry pals - I even get along with cats! I'm at my best when I have friends to keep me company and share in all the fun activities. Whether it's romping around the yard or tagging along for a hike, I'm always up for an adventure! Now, let's talk about something important: my feelings about crates. Truth is, they stress me out a bit. But here's the thing, if I've got a human or dog friend with me, I seem to do better being left loose in the house. I prefer not to be left alone for too long. I'd love someone to be home with me most of the time, a dog to keep me company, or the ability to make friends at doggy daycare! When it comes to training, I know a few tricks like "sit," but I'm always eager to learn more. With a patient teacher and lots of positive reinforcement, I'm sure I'll be the perfect companion! Oh, and let's not forget about my favorite thing in the world: cuddles! I absolutely adore being around people, especially kids. I may be a big girl, but I think I'm a lapdog at heart. If you're looking for a loyal and affectionate companion, look no further - I'm right here waiting for you! My adoption fee is a minimum of $195, plus a $15 fee for rabies registration for McLean County residents aged four months or older. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a sweet and loving pup like me, let's make it official! She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Stevie (female GSD) and Wally(male Great Pyrenees) are in need of a new home together or foster home until we can find a home where they can stay together. They lost their dad in January and just lost their mom also. Losing each other is the last thing they need right now. Remaining family members are not in a positions to keep them. Wally was adopted from GPRCI in 2017 and will be 9 years old later this month. Stevie is a three year old purebred German Shepherd. We don't know where she came from. Stevie was a covid puppy and is a bit fearful of strangers at first, but comes around quickly and seems to have had some formal training. Wally is well socialized and very typically Great Pyrenees. Due to his owner's illness Wally's coat got matted and he is trimmed down now but will grow back out of. course. They are both house dogs and have always been inside family pets. They also lived with a parrot. Please contact Cindy at gprci.info at gmail.com if you can give Wally and Stevie a place indoor home. Fenced yard required. You can find our adoption application and adoption info at gprci.com

Story
Apollo is such a happy playful pup! He loves playing with his buddies at the shelter. Once he is worn out, he settles right in for a good nights sleep! This boy is so loving and is looking for a family who can keep up with him! All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile. After we review your completed survey we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. We're primarily a volunteer organization, so we appreciate your patience. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sundays and Mondays and will not be processing any applications on that day. Do get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). Counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart: Park in the PetSmart Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. PCH supports a 21-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we are not able to provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!
