Ellie is a 5yo female spayed German Shepherd x Staffordshire mix that I rescued from LHS four years ago as a one year old. Ellie has not adjusted well to my new living situation that includes a cat. She does have a high prey drive which has caused her a lot of stress/anxiety in the house due to the cat even when it is not visible. Ellie has a lot of energy, she enjoys puzzles and mental stimulation. Hard chew toys are good and I’ve kept a supply of antlers for her. She does very well on leash and she is also trained to an e-collar. She is protective of her people and will bark but not bite. She knows basic commands -sit, stay, etc. Her favorite things are sunbathing, going on car rides, and watching for critters to chase. Ideally she would be able to go to a home where there are no small animals with a fenced yard/space to run around.

Rosco is a male German Shepherd mix. We also believe he might have some Doberman in him as well! We rescued him from the LHS when he was 8 weeks old. I saw him advertised on the local Lexington news & I knew we just had to have him! He turned a year old on December 27th & we have owned him for a little over a year. He is an incredibly smart, loving, protective, fast, big dog who LOVES to run & fetch after tennis balls. He loves walks, running, eating his dog food, licking leftover food off the ground, playing with chew toys, finding sticks, catching flies, laying in the grass, being in the sunshine, & taking care of his owners. He has been so good to us & we adore him. We are looking for a dog lover to adopt him permanently & want to know that he can be in his forever home safely. A few months ago, we started noticing some aggressive tendencies in certain situations. More information can/will be shared privately. He's an amazing dog & we are hoping to find someone great for him.

First surgery will be 03/14. Needs a home where he can recover for 6 weeks after surgery. *Recommend no very young children due to energy level $375 Adoption fee He went for his vet visit today and was neutered. Both patellas are luxated medially and unable to be moved into the correct position. Might need surgical correction at some point after the growth plates close. Puppies can grow out of a luxating patella if the deformation of the bone that allows the kneecap to pop out of place is slight. As the puppy grows, the groove in the femur where the patella sits and glides may become deep enough that the luxation no longer occurs. Joint supplements featuring Green lipped mussel are excellent for countering the joint damage of luxating patella. They feature healthy omega 3 fatty acids in conjunction with glucosamine and chondroitin (key building blocks of joints and cartilage).
