Story
Maximus is a 6 year old fixed male German Shepard/mini Aussie. He's about 40#. No major behavioral/health issues. Would not recommend crowded apartment living. It would make him anxious. Max house-trained, good with kids/babies. Prob good with cats, depending on the cat. Well socialized with other dogs. Super smart, loyal, and protective. He listens well and doesn't run off. Up to date on all vaccinations. We have vet records to transfer. Never killed an animal, misbehaved at a dog park, or bit anyone. Max is leash trained and does well being "crated" in our bedroom when we leave the house. We have raised him since puppyhood. He's been very loved. Located in Lowell, MI.

Story
Roxy is a sweet female White German Shepherd (healthy and up to date on vaccinations). She is 7 years old. Her current owner is 85 years old and due to health issues can no longer care for Roxy.  Roxy's owner said she is good with her great grandchildren and when Roxy stayed at her granddaughter's home with her cats there were no issues. Roxy gets along with her son's dog.  She loves car rides and loves to swim.  Nail trims are very easy for her.  She is especially skilled at companionship. She doesn’t care what the activity is, she just loves being with people.  Like many dogs, Roxy does not like thunderstorms or fireworks. During those events she needs to be somewhere she feels secure. Currently that is a shower stall with the fan running and a light on.

Story
Hi, I’m Porter! I’m a three year old German Shepard. I am super energetic and need lots of space to run and play! I would love to have a dog sibling who I can rough house with, preferably not a small or old dog. I need an owner who is willing to burn my energy everyday, and has lots of space for me (NO apartments). If you would like to know more about me, submit an application and talk to my humans. I can’t wait to find my forever home!

Story
Frankie has been with our family for four years now and it is with heavy hearts that we are having to rehome him. With two young children we are realizing we can’t give him the life he deserves. He has been such a sweet and playful dog and we’re looking for someone that will love and care for him as much as we did. Things Frankie loves: -Chasing after balls (we do the Chuck It with him daily) -Going on hikes -Playing in the sprinkler or any kind of water -Being a couch potato Frankie is an incredibly sweet dog but he’s not for everyone! Here are some of his quirks: -He gets along with some dogs but not all dogs. This is why we do not take him to dog parks. -He’s never ever bit anyone but he has growled when strangers have come up to him on the street. -With just us, he is calm and easy to have around. When guests come over he gets very excited and it takes a while for him to calm down. Overall, he’s the best. Great walker, doesn’t bark too much, and follows our commands well.

Story
Do you have an “empty nest”? Are you looking for some handsome boy companionship? Great news, your search is over! In addition to my very dapper good-boy looks, I am also an avid ball player and dignified goofball. You may be thinking how in the world I can posses such conflicting personality traits...well I am definitely very regal in my looks and initial demeanor...but once I let my hair down (the shed is real, am I right?) and create a bond with my person, I reveal my more quirky attributes! I love being outdoors; you could even say that I am easily amused. Whether it be playing fetch to my heart's desire or going for a long trail walk (I would probably make a pretty good jogging buddy too). If you have a boat with an empty seat, count me in because I LOVE to swim! Being a German Shepherd, I am one of the 'brighter crayons in the box'. In my free time I like to work with the staff and volunteers to brush up on my basic command skills. They are always telling me what a smart guy I am! Well...I assume that's what they are saying, judging by the treats they give me, I am doing good! Proper introductions to establish a trusting, positive, first impression is a must with me. I am an old fashioned kind of guy. I know I am irresistibly handsome, but I appreciate getting to know each other before getting all touchy-feely. Because of this, I would be happiest in a home without children (or other wondering hands). I do love affection and a good ear rub....but a mutual respect needs to be established first. I also want to be your only side-kick, I am not a social butterfly with other pets, I would much rather hangout with just my person. I have a pretty strong prey drive to keep the stray cat and pesky squirrels out of our yard too....A job I take very seriously. If you are in the market for a dashing side-kick to rid the yard of vermin, submit your adoption application at the website below to see if we are a match! D.O.B 3/30/17 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption survey at www.mackenzies.info/adopt/adoption-survey-application/
